This season, a piece has been completed that can truly be called a "masterpiece" among them.
The official name of the leather flight jacket, "G-1," a symbol of the US Navy Air Corps, appeared around 1947 after the war, with the "SPEC 55J14," which was a culmination point reached after repeated model changes since the early 1940s.
This particular model is based on a design where the property designation was changed from the Navy's unique code "SPEC:M422a" to "AN-J-3a," which implies "Army Navy type 3," and the stencil on the back of the collar was changed from "USN" to "US."
It models the final version of a model that was actually issued for three years, characterized by a construction that truly can be called a "G-1," faithfully reproducing the rugged grain of the original by aniline dyeing vegetable-tanned goatskin.
It exquisitely expresses a texture that closely approximates vintage.
The lining uses heavy cotton rayon satin fabric.
