COLIMBO Bellfast Dropper's Vest "FLAK HAPPY" (Flak Happy) [ZY-0140]

This alpaca-lined vest is modeled after an AAF military vest believed to have been produced after 1944, towards the end of WWII.
It is thought to have been designed to supplement the insufficient thermal performance of existing systems.
Rather than being a standard issue item, it is based on a rare pocketed model among the many variations that existed.
The lining is alpaca wool pile.

It features an AAF stencil on the chest, and a stencil custom on the back with the motif of:
Belonging to the 441st Troop Carrier Group, which completed numerous operations including the Normandy landings. They conducted silent airborne assaults using unpowered gliders.
