COLIMBO "Original Trench Digger Pants" - Classic Herringbone Twill - Khaki [ZU-0218]

Monkey pants made for the U.S. Marine Corps.
The fabric is 100% cotton herringbone twill.
It's a sulfur-dyed fabric that will fade to a whitish color as you wear it, allowing you to enjoy its aging.
A distinctive design with large back pockets.
There are also large pockets on both front sides.
The buttons are original Colimbo brass-plated buttons.
Eyelet holes are also reproduced near the belt loops.
The silhouette is a more tapered, cleaner silhouette than vintage models.
With a relaxed fit around the hips and a deep rise, these pants are easy to wear with various styles.

〜COLIMBO Description〜
The "M-44" military trousers, affectionately known as "monkey pants," are strongly associated with their use as combat gear by the U.S. Marine Corps from the late stages of World War II through the Korean War. However, there is also a theory that they were originally produced and supplied for workwear and then repurposed for combat, making them a unique part of military garment history.
Their distinctive and rational appearance is striking, featuring large cargo pockets that wrap around from the front to the side (without handwarmers), and the characteristic bat pocket on the back.
The bat pocket, in particular, is said to have been designed to store a folded poncho.
At the time, the herringbone weave military fabric supplied to the U.S. military differed in weave pattern for the Army and Navy. It is said that when large quantities of these fabrics were cancelled near the end of the war and lost their destination, they were ultimately accepted by the Marine Corps, leading to the theory that two types of herringbone patterns exist in their equipment.
Furthermore, the fact that products from major manufacturers, such as outdoor clothing from just before 1945, continued for two to three years using these fabrics post-dyed in different colors for civilian use, and then returned to regular duck fabric, makes it clear that the massive consumption of materials during the war created various stories.
For this product, while respecting the original taste, we have modified various parts to reproduce a natural tapered silhouette from the thigh to the hem and an appropriate rise length using a tasteful and long-lasting H.B.T (herringbone twill) cloth.
The original metal buttons feature brass-plated studs covered with steel covers and then painted. As you wear them, their texture will deepen in flavor, complementing the fabric.
