The material used is Australian sheepskin.
It is sheepskin coated with polyacrylate lacquer on the surface of combination-tanned leather.
Dye-finished horsehide is used for the main component joints and as seam tape.
Like the TYPE B-3, it has a luxurious finish.
All zippers are "TALON" zippers.

The original heavy-zone jacket issued to US AAF pilots. It uses sheepskin trimmed to three different pile lengths.
