The fabric uses 20-count top yarn for the surface, 40-count off-white yarn for the middle thread, and 8-count off-white yarn for the back thread, recreating the deep heathered grey of vintage. Furthermore, UNION SPECIAL 11900 is used to press down the seams and finish the garment, with a moderate stitch count to prevent the seams from bunching or rippling. The collar binder uses UNION SPECIAL 52800, sewn in from the inside to allow thicker silk thread to be placed on the outside. This prevents thread breakage while improving elasticity and strength.
