JELADO Empire Car Coat [AG73418]

This item was created by sampling a horsehide car coat with four flap pockets made in the 1930s from the HERCULES brand developed by Sears Roebuck Company.
We use two original horse hides: EVONY and GAUCHO.
EVONYThe horsehide, which has a brown core and black finish and is named after this, is made from 1.2 to 1.3 mm European horse fronts and is vegetable tanned in a pit layer, giving it a fine fiber density and a fluffy texture.
The finish is applied with lacquer, but by eliminating the anchoring process, which increases durability, we have been able to create a leather that is not hard like pigments and is prone to brown core development.
For mocha brownGAUCHOWas used.
Made from fully vegetable tanned European horsehide (horse body leather) approximately 1.2 to 1.3 mm thick.
The surface of the horse front leather, which has a fine fiber density and is tanned using a pit layer, is lightly sanded and then rubbed with sandpaper to create a leather with a unique texture.
By lightly rubbing the silver, you can enjoy the changes in the leather as it becomes supple and pulls up.
Because it deeply absorbs water, oil, etc., it becomes a leather that is constantly changing in appearance.
When you rub the surface, the leather changes to look burnt. Both the black and mocha brown are dyed, so you can enjoy the leather's unique look even more.
A characteristic of full vegetable tanning is that the oil inside will emerge with use, increasing the gloss and making the leather plump and voluminous.
Both use black sewing thread.
By using black sewing thread, the mocha brown appears more refined.
The back of the flap, belt, and cuffs feature discharge-dyed stripes to enhance the workwear feel.
The liner is made of dobby woven wool tweed fabric.
The fabric is warm and luxurious.
The buckle is a reproduction of the engraved iron buckle from that time.
