JELADO Rebel Jacket Horse Hide Full Aniline Topcoat Finish Black [SG63431]

This double rider's jacket is based on the "WINDWARD" brand from Montgomery Ward in the 1950s.
The design is based on the "Two-Star" model of a 1950s W rider's jacket, featuring star studs on the shoulders.
The leather used is newly developed horsehide, approximately 1.6mm thick, chrome-tanned and vegetable-tanned, then dyed light brown before being spray-dyed with a "oka-zome" (hill-dyeing) technique at a long-established finishing factory in Tokyo.
To achieve the ultimate vintage feel, the leather is finished with a full aniline process.
While a richer, deeper black can be achieved by adding a little pigment, the unique characteristic of this finish is that it allows for the color changes inherent to dyes, and without a paint film, it feels virtually soft.
For a basic deep black dye finish, a semi-aniline finish is typically used, which involves applying aniline dye over a sprayed pigment. This method allows for concealing scratches on the leather and achieving a uniform, beautiful color without compromising the leather's texture.
However, with the same concept as our Last Resort denim, we aimed for a leather that offers a natural feel and ages beautifully over time.
The Topcoat finish adds an extra step to the full-aniline leather.
To enhance the black color even further, blue dye is applied over the brown core black leather dyed with full aniline, and then finished by adjusting the black color with fine particle pigments.
Unlike regular pigments, fine particle pigments are paints formed from tiny molecules, so they don't form a thick film like regular pigments, allowing the underlying color to show through and produce vibrant colors.

As you wear it, the leather will age beautifully, and you can fully enjoy the luster and changes in material when oil is applied.
The lining is a reproduction of the red satin quilting commonly used back then.
The use of red quilting gives it a strong vintage feel.
The zippers used are TALON and WALDES.
The front hem has a belt that fastens with a buckle.
Corduroy is used on the underside of the hem, preventing the leather from rubbing and providing high durability.
Pleats are also included on the shoulder area of the back, allowing for functional wear.
This sturdy rider's jacket has a longer length and narrower armholes than typical W rider's jackets, allowing for a stylish fit.

You can choose whether to include epaulets or not.
