Native patterns have always been my favorite genre. The influence of magazines I read as a teenager is still deeply ingrained in me. When I was in high school, a long native pattern coat graced the cover of a magazine. I desperately wanted to wear it, so I went around to several vintage shops in Harajuku, but I couldn't find anything that really clicked. What I ended up choosing was a shearling coat from a different genre. I really wanted to wear a long native pattern coat. But I gave up then—I have a slightly bitter memory of that. And now, JELADO has released a multi-colored native pattern coat. We've made this model before, but this year's model has been updated with sizing that allows it to be worn over a denim jacket. Because of that, I've been wearing denim on denim more often lately. Plus, I'm finally wearing the engineer boots I managed to buy. It's a pretty masculine outfit, but this is definitely my mood right now.
