〜WEST also has free stock〜
Good evening. This is Uemura from WEST.
Today, I'd like to introduce The 2Monkeys' masterpiece,
the French Work Blouse.
The 2 Monkeys French Work Blouse【TM02454】
With seven pleats, this is a very elaborate piece.
Even JELADO's
"406XX" and "407EXX" only have
two pleats, so this detail
is so intricate that three factories refused to make it…
I think you can understand the dedication
just from the fact that it has seven pleats…
And this is not a jacket,
but a jacket-style blouse, so the buttonholes
are vertical, not horizontal.
This is why this product is called a "Blouse".
Gathers are used on the cuffs, back yoke, and waistband,
giving it a French feel.
Gathers are also included in the back yoke,
meaning a considerable amount of fabric is used for the back.
* Although the price of linen is soaring,
using such a large amount of fabric would increase the price,
but I believe the silhouette of this blouse is well-balanced
by the gathers in the back yoke.
A cinch back is attached above the waistband,
and gathers can be seen on the waistband as well.
We have L and XL sizes of the very popular "French Work Blouse"
in stock at the WEST store.
Please come and try it on at the store.
Thank you.
〜USMC M44 Monkey Pants〜
【Pre-order item, arriving early March】Monkey Trousers【CT11344】
Speaking of USMC M44 Monkey Pants,
they were trousers issued to the Marine Corps,
and are popular vintage items known as "Monkey Pants."
The origin of their name is as follows…
Large, horizontal cargo pockets with flaps.
These large pockets were designed to hold ponchos,
and the flaps were added to prevent items from falling out.
These pockets resemble a monkey's backside,
hence the name "Monkey Pants."
The M44's production period was actually
very short, lasting only "1 year and 3 months,"
from July 1944 to around October 1945.
Also, because they were issued to the
"elite few" US Marines,
the overall production volume was low, making them
quite valuable in the vintage market.
The periods when the US Marine Corps actually wore them include:
・Battle of Iwo Jima (February 19 - March 26, 1945)
・Around the Battle of Okinawa (March 26 - September 7, 1945).
And after World War II,
・Korean War (June 25, 1950 - July 27, 1953)
They seem to have been worn extensively during these times.
JELADO's Monkey Pants use herringbone material.
Furthermore, they are dyed with vat dyes.
The buttons are donut buttons,
also adding to the vintage feel.
By wearing them regularly, you can enjoy the
aging process.
With a native pattern half-length coat or
leather jacket... and also,
They pair very well with coveralls, too.
I also recommend pairing them with a chambray shirt.
Please make a reservation online or in-store.
Thank you.
