〜Vaudeville〜
Good evening. This is Uemura from WEST.
Today, I'd like to introduce these boots
from The 2Monkeys.
The 2 Monkeys VAUDEVILLE【TM83933】
The setting of Vaudeville is the vaudeville theaters
seen in New York and other major cities in America
from 1880 to 1920.
Vaudeville theaters were rich in variety, featuring songs, dances, comedy, magic, and more.
Many early silent film stars, such as Charlie Chaplin and the Marx Brothers,
also came from vaudeville backgrounds.
These 'Vaudeville' boots were created
with the image of the shoes that vaudeville performers
might have worn.
These are open-laced boots with a high toe and a quarter panel sewn from separate upper and lower parts.
They are a combination of Goodyear welt and McKay construction,
similar to the Sportif.
Oak Brown clearly shows color shading.
Black is made of tea-core leather,
so the brown base will appear as you wear them in.
The soft leather and lack of stress are key features of these boots, making them incredibly comfortable.
They're a pair of boots you'll definitely want to try on.
Please come and try them on at the store.
〜USMC M44 Monkey Pants〜
【Pre-order item, expected early March arrival】Monkey Trousers【CT11344】
The USMC M44 Monkey Pants were issued to the Marine Corps,
and are a popular item in the vintage industry, affectionately known as 'Monkey Pants'.
Their name comes from this...
They feature large, horizontal cargo pockets with flaps.
These large pockets were designed to hold a 'poncho',
and the flaps were added to prevent the contents from falling out.
These pockets are said to resemble a monkey's buttocks,
hence the name 'Monkey Pants'.
The M44 had a very short production period,
lasting only "one year and three months",
from July 1944 to around October 1945.
Furthermore, because they were issued to the U.S. Marine Corps,
which was a "small, elite force",
the overall production volume was low, leading to
quite high prices in the vintage market.
The periods when the U.S. Marine Corps actually wore them were...
・Battle of Iwo Jima (February 19 - March 26, 1945)
・Around the Battle of Okinawa (March 26 - September 7, 1945)
And after World War II,
・Korean War (June 25, 1950 - July 27, 1953)
It seems they were worn extensively during these times.
JELADO's Monkey Pants use herringbone material.
Furthermore, they are dyed with vat dyes.
And the buttons are donut buttons,
which also creates a vintage feel.
By wearing them consistently, you can enjoy the aging process.
enjoy the aging process.
Native pattern half-length coats and
Leather jackets... and even
They pair very well with coveralls, and
I highly recommend pairing them with a chambray shirt.
Please make a reservation at the store or online.
Thank you.
