Today, we would like to introduce VAUDEVILLE from The 2 Monkeys.

 

We recently received a small shipment, and while some sizes are out of stock, we have a good selection of sizes available.

The black features a brown core that develops an attractive patina with age.

The oak brown has a deep, nuanced color, and as it ages, the black dye used in the finishing process fades, allowing you to enjoy its evolving appearance.

Vaudeville was a popular form of entertainment in America before the widespread adoption of movies.

During its heyday, from around 1880 to 1920, many vaudeville theaters thrived in major cities like New York.

Its content was diverse, including singing, dancing, comedy, and magic.

Many early silent film stars, such as Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Laurel & Hardy, and the Marx Brothers, got their start in vaudeville.

They traveled from theater to theater.

The 2 Monkeys "VAUDEVILLE" boots are inspired by these vaudeville performers, who were also traveling entertainers.

(These are not reproductions of specific vintage boots.)

 

We drew inspiration from American and French boots from around the 1910s.

These are cap-toe external blucher boots with a high toe, also known as a bulldog toe, and a quarter that has two separate pieces sewn together.

We combined an original last with a slightly oblique toe, a small cap, a large quarter, a low shaft, and a small heel to create the look of boots from that era.

By combining two types of construction methods and strongly narrowing the waist, we reproduced the elegant silhouette of boots from that time.

Inspired by actors who were known for their flamboyant style, we gave the toe a unique shape with a distinct line.

 

 

The leather is smooth but retains its natural texture, made from horsehide (horse front).

Because the leather is not heavily "finished," you may see tiger stripes or natural scratches emerge as you wear it,

but these contribute to the rich character of horse leather.

The soft leather also molds to your foot exceptionally well.

Like "SPORTIF," these are surprisingly light and agile boots.

 

For the VAUDEVILLE, we coordinated it with The 2 Monkeys' French work blouse.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Both colors are easy to match and versatile, so they will undoubtedly go perfectly with your existing items.
