〜The 2Monkeys〜
Good evening. This is Uemura from WEST.
I would like to introduce you to the items that arrived today.
The 2 Monkeys Linen Cambrai Shirt【TM11150】
Regarding the previous Linen Cambray Shirt, both WEST staff members bought two colors, and perhaps because of that, several WEST customers also purchased two colors.
Since this popular item is making a return this year, I, who am absolutely obsessed with T2M, can't help but be excited about it.
It's a thin fabric made of 100% linen. Normally, chambray is plain woven cotton, but this is plain woven linen, so it feels smooth and light against the skin, and it's also highly breathable, making it highly recommended.
This time, it's available in two colors: straw and indigo. The unique features of T2M include...
the fabric added under the armpits for a straight, horizontal armhole.
And with details like the longer back body, this is a piece that becomes more enjoyable the closer you look at the details.
Both colors are versatile, making this linen shirt suitable for pairing with jeans, chinos, military pants, and more, as it doesn't limit your choice of bottoms.
Please come to the store, try it on, and consider it.
Thank you.
〜USMC M44 Monkey Pants〜
【Pre-order item, expected to arrive early March】Monkey Trousers【CT11344】
USMC M44 Monkey Pants were issued to the Marine Corps and are a popular item in the vintage industry, affectionately known as "Monkey Pants." The origin of that name is here...
Large, horizontal cargo pockets with flaps.
These large pockets were adopted to hold a "poncho," and the reason for the flaps was to prevent the contents from falling out.
These pockets are said to resemble a monkey's buttocks, which is why they are called "Monkey Pants."
The M44 was produced for a very short period of just "1 year and 3 months," from July 1944 to around October 1945.
Additionally, because they were issued to the "elite few" of the U.S. Marine Corps, the overall production volume was low, and they command quite high prices in the vintage market.
The periods when the U.S. Marine Corps actually wore them include:
・Battle of Iwo Jima (February 19 – March 26, 1945)
・Around the Battle of Okinawa (March 26 – September 7, 1945).
And after World War II:
・Korean War (June 25, 1950 – July 27, 1953)
It seems they were worn extensively during these times.
Jelado's Monkey Pants use herringbone material.
Furthermore, they are dyed with vat dyes.
And the buttons are donut buttons, which also creates a vintage look.
By wearing them thoroughly, you can enjoy the aging process.
Half-length coats with native patterns,
leather jackets... and even
coveralls go very well with them,
I also recommend pairing them with a chambray shirt.
Please make a reservation at the store or online.
Thank you.
