Introducing The 2 Monkeys VAUDEVILLE [TM83933]

Today, as the title suggests, we are reintroducing the masterpiece VAUDEVILLE [TM83933] from The 2 Monkeys.

 

 

The 2 Monkeys VAUDEVILLE【TM83933】

Vaudeville refers to a form of popular entertainment that originated in France at the end of the 19th century. It also took the United States by storm before movies became widespread.

 

 

The 2 Monkeys' VAUDEVILLE was created with the image of boots worn by vaudeville actors who traveled from town to town. It draws inspiration from American and French boots from around 1910. Although it is not a reproduction of a specific vintage boot, given that vaudeville as an entertainment form spread from France to America, the name seems to fit its essence perfectly.

In fact, movies themselves were originally screened during vaudeville intermissions. It was much later that movie screenings in theaters became common.

As such, there was a very close relationship between vaudeville and early cinema. In fact, many early silent film stars came from vaudeville.

 

 

While VAUDEVILLE has a slightly dressy appearance, it pairs perfectly with workwear like blue-tag painter pants.

 

 

The inspiration for The 2 Monkeys' VAUDEVILLE reportedly comes from vaudeville-turned-film actors Charles Chaplin and Buster Keaton.

 

 

In Chaplin's representative work, "Modern Times," starring himself, you can see him wearing workwear with hickory stripes paired with boots that have a slightly upturned toe, much like the VAUDEVILLE.

 

 

VAUDEVILLE offers a lightness that is hard to believe for boots, so it might not be impossible to leap and bound as nimbly as Chaplin in the movies.
