The 2 Monkeys Montagnard Poncho【TM12443】
Corsica, France, known as Napoleon's birthplace.
In the past, Corsica was apparently overrun by bandits, who were feared and are said to be connected to the current Corsican mafia.
By the 19th century, these Corsican bandits came to be viewed with awe by people in mainland France as a noble group untainted by corrupt modern civilization.
This poncho was inspired by the ponchos worn by bandits depicted in the 19th-century French painting shown above.
The material is light and warm wool melton. Since this poncho was worn by bandits to protect themselves from rain and wind, it is sized to be easily thrown over any outerwear.
This is a one-of-a-kind outerwear piece that maintains an antique style down to the finest details. Please try it on in store.
