Today, we'd like to introduce a pair of The 2 Monkeys' classic boots, known for being the easiest to put on and take off.

 

The 2 Monkeys ELASTOS【TM01945】

 

 

Victorian Blue from ELASTOS is back in stock.

These are the only Chelsea boots in The 2 Monkeys boot series, making them incredibly easy to put on and take off.

 

Chelsea boots were one of the most popular shoes in England and America in the late 19th century (1850-1900).

Chelsea boots, which emerged in the early 19th century (around 1830?), were marketed as a new type of shoe that used recently commercialized elastic fabric on both sides of the ankle for a snug fit without shoelaces.

 

According to J. Sparkes Hall, who patented these shoes in England in 1851, Queen Victoria (reign 1837-1901) wore them daily.

The upper class wore them with various embellishments, while the middle class seemed to wear simple black leather ones.

 

It is natural to assume that Sakamoto Ryoma, who traded with England at the time, wore such shoes.

ELASTOS are short boots that incorporate the elegant style and details of Chelsea boots from that era, while also being suitable for casual wear all year round.

They incorporate many elements of boots from that era, including the side-elastic type, such as the large V-shaped gore (elastic fabric) on both sides of the ankle, a design that curves the instep with a center seam without crimping, decorations with stitching and perforations that became the origin of modern brogues, and a cap with a protrusion towards the instep.

And as is customary with The 2 Monkeys, the soles use both Goodyear welt and Blake rapid constructions.

 

Victorian Blue is currently available in all sizes.

Some might think this color is hard to match, but it goes well with denim and chinos for American casual pants.

It's recommended for those who already own classic boots or those buying for the first time who want something unique.

And Brown is also in stock, though sizes may be limited.
