Today, we would like to introduce an item from The 2 Monkeys.

This item is a regular leather release, and we are happy to announce that it is back in stock after previously having some sizes sold out.

 

The 2 Monkeys Leather Waistcoat【TM83434】

 

 

 

Introducing a leather waistcoat from The 2 Monkeys.

In the 18th century, the northeastern to inland regions of North America were French territory.

French explorers traveled through these undeveloped lands for fur trading with indigenous peoples and beaver hunting.

There is no documentation proving that they wore leather jackets.

However, it is possible that these Frenchmen, who had the deepest interactions with the indigenous peoples of North America who had a custom of wearing leather outerwear from that era, created and wore leather jackets incorporating the styles of French clothing from that time (around 1750).

This design is based on such a hypothesis: a sleeved waistcoat (jacket) from that period.

It is finished as a unique leather jacket, incorporating many details inherited from European styles of the time, such as forward-curved sleeves, distinctive armhole curves, unique back seams for shaping, and hem gussets.

The camel version is made from shrunken horsehide with a rugged texture, retaining irregular and natural grain, as well as natural blemishes.

The dark brown version is a smooth horsehide that retains its natural surface.

It is finished with black dye, allowing you to enjoy the aging process as the deep, dark brown transitions to a faded black.

Both are vegetable-tanned.
