This is a standard leather item, but it was out of stock in some sizes, so it has now been brought back.

 

The 2 Monkeys Leather Waistcoat【TM83434】

 

 

 

This is a leather waistcoat from The 2 Monkeys.

In the 18th century, the northeastern and inland areas of North America were French territory.

The French traveled to this uncivilized land to trade fur with the indigenous people and hunt beavers.

There is no evidence that they were wearing leather jackets.

However, it is possible that they, who had the deepest contact with the Native Americans who had been wearing leather jackets since that time, created and wore leather jackets that incorporated the style of French clothing of the time (around 1750).

This is a waistcoat (jacket) with sleeves from that time that was designed based on this hypothesis.

It incorporates plenty of details that inherit the European style of the time, such as flare-out (bent) sleeves, unique armhole curves, unique back seam for a tighter fit, and hem gussets, making it a one-of-a-kind leather jacket.

Camel is a shrunk horsehide leather with a rough texture, retaining its natural irregular grain and scratches.

The dark brown is smooth horse leather that retains its natural texture.

It is finished with black dye, so you can enjoy the change over time as the deep, rich brown fades to black.

Both are tanned with tannins.

It's one of the things I'm looking forward to growing from here.
