The 2 Monkeys Sportif Black Calf【TM72924】

 

 

The Sportif, which has been sold out for a long time, has been restocked.

Since all sizes were sold out, many of you must have been waiting for this.

Although popular, boots like these usually have some sizes available in stores, but these are so popular that every size sells out completely each time they are restocked.

Please note that the French calf specification will be temporarily discontinued after this batch.

The specifications will change from the next release, so if you are a fan of French calf, please consider purchasing soon.

 

These boots are designed with an image of boots worn for hunting and outdoor activities in France around the 1920s to 1930s.

However, they are not a reproduction of actual old boots.

These boots incorporate the style common in European boots of that era, while also adopting the moccasin-style toe design that became popular in America around the same time.

 

The leather is soft French calf that molds to your feet.

The leather is black hill-dyed, and the brown core that emerges with wear enhances the aging process.

The sole area, in particular, incorporates the taste of the era.

By using the Goodyear welt method for the forefoot and the McKay method for the waist to the heel, the style of a spade sole with a significantly narrowed waist is reproduced. Looking at the sole from below, you can clearly see this narrowed waist.

 

The top and bottom of the heel form an S-curve.

The soft leather perfectly reproduces the shape of the last, and the small heel with its pitch accentuates the curve.

Curves are combined throughout the front, back, left, and right of the shoe, creating an elegant style that resonates with traditional European aesthetics.

 

 

The toe features a thin leather toe cap that conforms well. As you wear them in, you can enjoy the aging process where the toe flattens, and the leather molds all the way to the tip.

The forefoot part of the sole is covered with a 3mm thick rubber sheet.

The heel top lift is 10mm rubber.

These rubber contact surfaces firmly grip the road, prevent slipping, and reduce sole wear.

 

 

The wearing comfort is light and soft.

This is due to the combination of the leather's characteristics, unique manufacturing method, and a flexible sole (single leather sole).

Those accustomed to work boots will surely be surprised by their lightness and the immediate sense of familiarity when they put them on.

 

From the late 19th to early 20th century, many European shoemakers traveled to America to learn about mass production systems.

This was a period when Europe, with its long traditions, and America, which quickly established mass production systems to cope with a rapidly expanding population due to immigration and economic development, influenced and elevated each other in shoemaking.

The 2 Monkeys' boots, the Sportif, are rare boots that align with the common boot styles of Europe and America during that era, making them suitable for both American and European tastes.
