The 2 Monkeys Suspenders【TM83635】

Actually, there have been requests for a while now for suspenders from The 2 Monkeys, because their bottoms have a high rise.

 

This time, they are being released in the 2023 Autumn/Winter Collection.

 

Trousers were once the bottoms for common people, but as they spread to the upper class, suspenders also became popular.

 

Until the 1920s, they were the mainstream accessory for "holding up trousers."

 

Here, I'd like to compare how things were in America at that time.

 

 

As you all know, LEVI'S 501XX.

 

It is one of America's three major denim brands, and "501" is synonymous with Levi's, making it a very popular model number.

 

Nowadays, belt loops are taken for granted, and it feels natural to hold up pants with a belt, but there was a time when even 501XX were held up with suspenders.

 

LEVI'S 501XX first got belt loops in 1922. This means that until then, they were held up with suspenders. I brought up LEVI'S this time, but there are many different workwear brands in America. Pants that don't have belt loops and only have suspender buttons are called "waist overalls."

 

I don't know if France was wearing suspenders as a fashion item at the time, but America and France... The clothing cultures might be similar.

 

 

 

 

 

 

These suspenders are designed with a cord for easy attachment and removal, making them incredibly convenient to use.

 

 

 

 

 

These suspenders feature a classic striped band and are made with Tochigi leather, which is vegetable-tanned.
