〜Steelbeam Coat〜

Good evening. This is Uemura from WEST.

Today, I'd like to introduce this item that I was curious about...

Steelbeam Coat【AG11406】

Steelbeam Coat【AG11406】

It is produced based on a coverall from the workwear brand 'SWEETORR' from the 1920s or earlier.

The 'deformed pockets' are characteristic of this era.

I believe this is an irresistible detail for vintage lovers.

As for the buttons, we also use 'change buttons,' which are characteristic of this era.

What are change buttons?

Change buttons are buttons that can be removed by securing them with a metal ring.

Before the 1940s, when washing machines began to spread, laundry was done on washboards, so this was a way to prevent damage to the fabric.

This coverall uses the well-known 'blue tag' of Last Resort.

Three different thicknesses of yarn are used for the warp threads.

As a result, repeated wear will produce vertical fading similar to vintage items.

The Wabash dot stripes are reproduced with discharge printing,

making this a meticulously crafted piece.

Please try it on and purchase it at the store.

〜USMC M44 Monkey Pants〜

【Pre-order item, arriving early March】Monkey Trousers【CT11344】

USMC M44 Monkey Pants are pants issued to the Marine Corps,

and are popular items in the vintage industry, known by their nickname "Monkey Pants."

The origin of the name is as follows...

Large, horizontal cargo pockets with flaps.

These large pockets were adopted to hold ponchos,

and the flaps were added to prevent contents from falling out.

These pockets resemble the buttocks of a monkey, which is why they are called "Monkey Pants."

The production period of the M44 was actually very short, only "1 year and 3 months,"

from July 1944 to around October 1945.

Also, since they were issued to the "elite few" of the U.S. Marine Corps,

the total production volume was small, so they are traded at quite high prices in the vintage market.

The period during which the U.S. Marine Corps actually wore them was...

・Battle of Iwo Jima (February 19, 1945 - March 26, 1945)

・Around the Battle of Okinawa (March 26, 1945 - September 7, 1945).

Also, after World War II,

・Korean War (June 25, 1950 - July 27, 1953)

It seems they were widely worn during these periods.

Jelado's Monkey Pants use herringbone material.

Furthermore, they are dyed with vat dye.

And the buttons are donut buttons, which also creates a vintage feel.

By wearing them consistently, you can enjoy the aging process.

It pairs very well with half-length coats with native patterns,

leather jackets, and even coveralls.

It goes very well with coveralls, too.

I also recommend pairing it with a chambray shirt.

Please make a reservation at our store or online.

Thank you.
