This Sportif / Black Calf is

an iconic item from The 2 Monkeys.

 

The 2 Monkeys = 2 monkeys

This refers to designer Riya Suzuki and

JELADO representative Goto.

 

These two teamed up to launch a brand dedicated to boots, which is "The 2 Monkeys".

 

The Sportif, made from French calf leather, is characterized by its soft and light leather.

 

It features a rare combination of Goodyear welt construction and Blake stitching.

The waist is tightly cinched, making it "cool" from every angle.

 

Since it's core-dyed leather, we highly recommend it as it will age beautifully with wear, allowing you to enjoy a different look from when you first bought it.

 

The sizes that were out of stock at JELADO WEST have arrived,

so all sizes are currently available in store.

The old 41 Khaki was discontinued with the last shipment in May 2023.

 

To release a new chino pant to replace it,

we cut and analyzed vintage 41 Khakis, which are highly sought after, and produced the fabric from scratch.

 

Using American deep south cotton, we recreated the natural uneven yarn.

 

While the previous 41 Khaki used reactive dyes,

this new 41 Khaki is dyed with vat dyes.

 

The 41 Khaki, made with American cotton, shuttle looms, and vat dyes, is finished to preserve the authentic feel and fabric of the original.

 

From raw cotton and yarn to weaving and dyeing,

this is the ultimate chino pant with attention to every detail...

The base fabric was developed by thoroughly analyzing vintage flannel shirts from the 1950s and earlier to reproduce a thick yet soft texture. We analyzed it using testing facilities, just like Lee workwear, looking at:

 

・Fiber length

・Twist coefficient

・Yarn count

・Number of threads per inch

 

We meticulously analyzed these factors and developed a new flannel from scratch.

 

This product uses sulfur dyes.

In recent years, the demand for sulfur dyeing has been low, but its "aging over time" through wear, and its soft "fabric feel" and "skin contact" as if wrapped in a towel, are exceptionally good and highly recommended.

 

This product receives a very high number of inquiries from customers concerned about sizing. We would be grateful if you could consult us in store rather than by phone (as we may not be able to respond if we are assisting customers in store).

'Last Resort' means a trump card, a last resort,

and if the white tag is the first line of defense,

then the 'blue tag' series is the fourth line, following the black tag and brown tag.

 

White and black tags focus on LEVI'S,

brown tags focus on 41Khaki...

So what about the blue tag?

 

The blue tag is a collection centered on workwear, and when it comes to representative workwear,

you can't leave out 'Lee'.

 

The LAST RESORT 'blue tag' focuses on light ounce denim workwear.

 

Since it's 10.5 ounce denim,

unlike the white and black tags, the lower ounce blue tag will definitely show a different kind of aging.

 

In that sense,

This product is based on the same 'LASTRESORT 41Khaki' that is currently available for pre-order, but uses a different fabric.

 

It is a 100% cotton twisted yarn twill fabric.

The warp uses sulfur-dyed twisted yarn, and the weft uses similarly sulfur-dyed black yarn, resulting in a thick and firm fabric.

 

Since it's 100% cotton, it will develop a beautiful aged look with wear, so we hope you enjoy watching its appearance change.

 

Since this is produced only once a year, we believe there are many customers who have been "waiting for this!"

In December, a small amount of free stock arrived,

but the Age of Longing 407EXX sold out in an instant.

 

You're probably all familiar with the LAST RESORT "Black Tag,"

but this is the second installment of the Last Resort series,

following the "White Tag" which was released earlier

and is the original Last Resort.

 

Compared to the white tag, the black tag denim is not blue-toned,

but rather has a strong black tone.

 

JELADO categorizes them as early and late models of 1947,

and the white tag is positioned as a late 1947 model,

a strongly blue-toned denim fabric.

The 501XX from this era is called:

 

"The greatest masterpiece in 501XX history."

 

Why is it called that? If you want to know the reason,

The white tag denim fabric focuses on 50s XX fabric.

 

So, what exactly is the "black tag" with its strong black tone?

 

World War II ended in 1945,

and during the war, each Levi's factory was producing

everyone's beloved "War Model."

 

After the war ended, even though material controls were lifted,

it took quite a long time for the details to return to their original form.

 

The reason is that a lot of the denim fabric and auxiliary materials

used in the War Models remained.

 

LEVI'S denim fabrics also have No.1 denim to No.3 denim

(I only know up to No.3, but if No.4 or others exist, please let me know).

This refers to the quality of the denim fabric.

 

No. 2 is a cheaper version of No. 1 denim,

and No. 3 is a cheaper version of No. 2 denim.

However, the denim fabric used in the War Models

was probably No. 2 or No. 3 denim, wasn't it?

 

After this denim fabric was used up,

it transitioned to what JELADO calls the "white tag."

The black tag denim represents the transitional period

from the end of the war to the switch in denim fabric.

 

The ounce count is 15 ounces,

and it uses highly uneven yarn,

so as it's worn and ages,

it will develop vertical fading like falling rain.

 

The real appeal of denim is, of course,

its "fading."

Fading is essential for "wearing" denim

and is completely different for each person,

so this charm is what I believe is

the greatest appeal of denim.

 

This time, 400 more pieces have been produced,

so for customers who couldn't buy it when it arrived last December,

and for customers who are considering purchasing it now,

I believe this is a chance to get your hands on it.
