Recently, many customers have been coming to our store looking for leather jackets and boots.

Some of you might be thinking, "Really? In this heat?"

But fashion enthusiasts understand that it's best to scout out and purchase items you want to wear in the fall and winter now.

By the time you want to wear them, they'll likely be sold out...

So, I was going to introduce Sportif, a classic and popular boot, but all sizes are currently sold out.

 

...However!

Sportif offers various cool limited edition colors besides the standard ones.

Let me reintroduce them.

 

First up is this.

 

The 2 Monkeys Sportif2 Rio Negro【TM03933】

 

 

This is Rio Negro.

It uses embossed kip glass leather for the vamp and counter pocket, and snuffed grain leather (leather with a lightly buffed surface) dyed with oils and waxes for the quarter. The sole, eyelets, and shoelaces are all black.

 

These boots have an exotic feel despite being all black.

 

The Rio Negro is a river that flows from Colombia to the Venezuelan border and joins the Amazon River in Brazil, with most of its basin being Amazonian rainforest.

The river's water is black due to organic matter derived from plant tannins dissolved in it, hence its name "Rio Negro," meaning "black river" in Spanish and Portuguese.

It was named "Rio Negro" to evoke the black waters of the Rio Negro and the various reptiles inhabiting the rainforests on its banks.

This pair is entirely black, different from the original color, but the use of two types of leather creates a cool, three-dimensional look.

It is currently available in US sizes 7, 7.5, 8, 8.5, and 10.

These are popular sizes, so if you're interested in Sportif or want to complete your look with black footwear, please consider them soon.

 

Next up is this color.

 

The 2 Monkeys Sportif2 Chamonix 【TM82948】

 

 

This is the vibrant black and white two-tone "Chamonix" color.

The black leather is calf from Annonay, and the white embossed leather is domestic steerhide.

It is said that black and white combination shoes originated in England in the 1860s as cricket shoes.

For low-cut shoes, they became widely used as a favored style for dandies in the 1920s and 30s, becoming an iconic shoe style of the era.

This color is rarely seen in boots, but it looks great on moccasin-style toes.

The leather is slightly stiffer than the standard Sportif (Black Calf), but it is much softer than thick work boot leather, wrapping your feet comfortably for a pleasant wearing experience.

The coloring might seem flashy for boots, but it's surprisingly easy to wear, feeling like sneakers.

Only US7 is available for this one.

How about it for those who find their Cinderella fit?

 

Lastly, I'll introduce this one.

 

The 2 Monkeys Sportif Bordeaux Vachetta【TM81935】

 

 

This is the Bordeaux color.

The leather is a wine red that evokes aged Bordeaux wine.

We selected Vachetta leather from Conceria 800 in Tuscany, Italy, and embossed it with a diamond grain much finer than that of Russian calf.

 

 

Vachetta leather is made using traditional Tuscan methods, with origins dating back to around 800 AD.

The number 800 in the tannery's name is said to derive from this history.

It is a leather made by vegetable tanning, then impregnating the core with animal oils like fish oil and neatsfoot oil to make it supple and durable.

Vachetta leather, from mature cattle, has a much thicker grain layer (the dense fibrous layer on the surface of the leather) and is stiffer than the French calf (calf leather) used for the standard Sportif black.

 

 

This one is available in US 6.5.
