JELADO Rebel Jacket Horse Hide Semi Aniline Finish Black【SG71428】

We are now accepting pre-orders for the Rebel Jacket, one of JELADO's three staple leather items.
This spring/summer model comes without epaulets and no padding.
When you hear "leather jacket," many of you probably think of a double rider's jacket.
We often hear customers in stores say, "I don't ride a motorcycle, so I'm hesitant to wear one..." but there's no problem at all.
While it is certainly an essential item for biker style, double rider's jackets are now seen so frequently on city streets that it's hard to imagine a day without seeing one.
This leather has truly gained popularity as a fashion item, so please give it a try.

The spring/summer model, in particular, is easier to wear due to fewer embellishments.

It also features action pleats for ease of movement.
Therefore, this is a piece we want those who find leather stiff and uncomfortable to try.
Our commitment to the leather used is also important.
The material used is approximately 1.6mm thick horsehide, which has undergone a combination (chrome x tannin) tanning process.

After chrome tanning, the solvents are washed away and it is re-tanned with tannin to bring out the best qualities of tannin, creating a leather with moderate heft and a better "aging" look as it is worn.
The base material is dyed light brown, and then black pigment is spray-dyed on the surface by a long-established finishing factory in Tokyo. This is what's known as "tea core" leather.

This time, to bring out a stronger black color, we applied the color with a semi-aniline finish, mixing pigment and dye in equal parts.
The dye, which colors the base, and the pigment, which forms a thin film on top, combine perfectly, leading to excellent aging as it's worn.
It offers a softness not found in 100% pigmented leather, and since only a thin film is applied, the base color will quickly begin to show through as it's worn.

Some sizes are available for purchase in-store, so if you're interested, please visit us.

~USMC M44 Monkey Pants~
【Pre-order item, expected early March arrival】Monkey Trousers【CT11344】
The USMC M44 Monkey Pants were issued to the Marine Corps,
and are a popular item in the vintage industry, affectionately known as "Monkey Pants."
The origin of their name is...
The large, horizontal cargo pockets with flaps.
These large pockets were designed to hold a "poncho,"
and the flaps were added to prevent the contents from falling out.
Because these pockets resemble the hindquarters of a monkey,
they are called "Monkey Pants."
The M44 was produced for a very short period, only "1 year and 3 months,"
from July 1944 to around October 1945.
Furthermore, because they were issued to the "elite few" of the
U.S. Marine Corps, the overall production volume was low, leading to
quite high prices in the vintage market.
The periods when the U.S. Marine Corps actually wore them include...
・Battle of Iwo Jima (Feb. 19 - Mar. 26, 1945)
・Around the Battle of Okinawa (Mar. 26 - Sep. 7, 1945).
They also seem to have been widely worn during the Korean War (June 25, 1950 - July 27, 1953)
after World War II.
Jelado's Monkey Pants use herringbone material.
Furthermore, they are dyed with vat dye.
And the buttons are doughnut buttons, which also adds to the vintage feel.
You can enjoy the aging process by wearing them thoroughly.
They pair well with native-patterned half-length coats,
leather jackets... and even
coveralls.
I personally recommend pairing them with a chambray shirt.
Please pre-order online or in-store.
Thank you.

~Regarding Hemming Services for Bring-Your-Own Items~
Both JELADO stores used to accept hemming services for "denim from other brands" if brought into the store.
However, due to the increased volume of hemming requests for in-store and online purchases, we are currently unable to accommodate "bring-your-own hemming requests for other brands." We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
・Hemming services for "JELADO products purchased from our dealers" will be charged a fee.
*We will continue to accept requests for hemming on items purchased at JELADO.
