Today I'll be introducing some products,
but before that, please allow me to say a few words.

Todai-ji Temple means... 'Nara'.
And Nara means that today's product introduction is 'KOTOKA'.
I personally only learned that 'Nara' is famous for leather products
after JELADO started handling Kotoka.
Nara became a suitable place for footwear manufacturing,
and shoe manufacturers started to increase in Nara after the end of the Pacific War (1941-1945),
and after the post-war chaos had settled.
Before that, footwear was limited to zori and geta,
but the increase in demand for leather shoes was the trigger.
Due to the environment suitable for manufacturing, and the diligent yet humble nature of Nara's residents,
Nara is said to be an indispensable place for shoemaking.
Seven shoe manufacturers in Nara came together to launch
the "Nara Hatsukutsu" project.
This project aims to promote Nara as a leading leather shoe production region in Japan and to challenge unique shoemaking,
producing shoes under the "KOTOKA" brand.
And now, these products have arrived at Jelado West,
which handles KOTOKA.

At Jelado West, we held a POPUP event
with Kotoka in May,
and the product that was a big hit at that POPUP event is the newly arrived
"Single-piece Leather Side Gore."
These side-gore boots are easy to put on and take off,
as they fit snugly with elastic fabric on both sides instead of shoelaces.
The leather is stiff at first, but as you wear them, they will conform to your feet,
and the leather will also soften, so we highly recommend them.
They will also develop a rich expression, making them a pair of shoes that you can enjoy as they age.
These side-gore boots pair well with denim, chinos, and cargo pants.
The single-piece leather provides a comfortable, hugging fit,
and since there is no lining,
they will mold to the wearer's feet with repeated use.
