We will be holding a TRUNK SHOW (pre-order event) for Ol' Shanks Engineer Boots,

another line of boots crafted by Riya Suzuki, at our store.

The model is the 10” Engineer Boot.

Sizes are available in half sizes,

from US6.5 (24.5cm) to US11.0 (29.0cm).

 

These rare engineer boots have a unique form and hand-dyed finish.

 

Because only a small number can be produced,

production is centered on orders received at only 1 or 2 trunk shows per year.

 

The leather is Italian horse butt.

This leather, from the horse's hindquarters, has a dense fiber structure and suppleness not found in cowhide,

and forms beautiful wrinkles.

Even the tiger stripes, scars, and pinholes often seen on its surface

are unique and rich expressions of this leather.

 

While there are individual differences in the expression and creasing of the leather for each pair,

I believe that each one is beautiful and embodies the unique character of this leather.

 

The boots can be hand-dyed by Mr. Suzuki in five colors:

Black, Walnut (dark brown),

Mahogany (reddish dark brown),

Dark Olive, and Dark Navy.

 

Because aniline dyes are used,

the colors will have shading that brings out the texture of the leather.

You can also enjoy the aging process, where the color fades relatively quickly.

 

For black,

a "pigment finish" is also available,

where the brown core emerges from the solid black leather over time.

 

Additionally, although sizes and quantities are limited,

you can also choose pigment pre-dyed brown core black leather.

 

The soles are available in three types:

a sharp single leather sole,

a specification with a leather midsole only at the front,

and a separate type using a rubber half sole.

 

You can also choose the dye color for the edge and the stitch color.

The quantity is overwhelmingly small,

The 41Khaki stencil changes its appearance as it is worn and washed repeatedly,

and the stencil, which is dark when purchased,

fades with washing, giving it a completely different feel.

The old 41 Khaki was discontinued

after its final arrival in May 2023.

 

In order to release new chinos to replace it,

we cut up expensive vintage 41 Khakis,

analyzed them, and produced the fabric from scratch.

 

Using deep South American cotton,

we've recreated a natural slub yarn.

 

While the previous 41 Khaki was reactive-dyed,

this 41 Khaki is dyed with vat dye.

 

The 41 Khaki, made with American cotton, shuttle loom, and vat dye,

is finished to preserve the original atmosphere and fabric feel.

 

Raw cotton, yarn, weaving, dyeing -

the ultimate chinos, with attention to every detail...

means a trump card or a last resort.

If the white tag is the first line of attack,

then the "blue tag" series is the fourth line, following the black and brown tags.

 

The white and black tags focus on LEVI'S,

the brown tag focuses on 41 Khaki...

So what about the blue tag?

 

The blue tag is a collection centered on workwear,

and when it comes to workwear,

"Lee" is definitely an indispensable brand.

 

The LAST RESORT "blue tag" focuses on

lightweight denim workwear.

 

Since it's 10.5oz denim,

unlike the white and black tags, the lower ounce blue tag

will undoubtedly show a different aging process.

This item has the same base as the "LASTRESORT 41Khaki"

that we are currently taking pre-orders for, but the fabric is different.

 

It's a 100% cotton twisted yarn twill fabric.

The warp uses sulfur-dyed twisted yarn, and the weft uses

similarly sulfur-dyed black yarn, creating a thick and stiff fabric.

 

Since it's 100% cotton, it will age nicely as you wear it,

so we hope you enjoy watching its transformation.

 

Since this is produced only once a year, we believe there are customers

who have been eagerly awaiting it.

The Age of Longing 407EXX,

which had a small amount of free stock arrive in December and sold out instantly,

is available again.

 

As you all know, LAST RESORT "black tag"

is the second installment of the Last Resort series,

following the original "white tag"

that was released earlier.

 

Compared to the white tag, the black tag is a denim with a stronger black hue,

rather than a blue one.

 

JELADO divides the 1947 model into early and late types,

with the white tag being positioned as the late 1947 model,

a denim fabric with a strong blue tint.

The 501XX of this era is called:

 

"The finest masterpiece in the history of 501XX."

The white tag is a denim fabric that focuses on

XX fabric from the 1950s.

 

So, what about the "black tag" with its strong black hue?

 

World War II ended in 1945, but

during the war, Levi's factories were producing

the "War Model" that everyone loves.

 

After the war ended, although rationing was lifted,

it took quite some time for the details to return to their original form.

 

The reason is that a lot of denim fabric and subsidiary materials

that were used for the war model remained.

 

LEVI'S denim fabrics include No.1 denim to No.3 denim

(I only know up to No.3, but if there's a No.4 or something, please let me know).

This refers to the quality of the denim fabric.

 

No.2 is a cheaper version of No.1 denim,

and No.3 is a cheaper version of No.2 denim, you could say.

It's divided that way, but

the denim fabric used for the war model was probably

No.2 or No.3 denim, wasn't it?

 

After this denim fabric was used up,

it transitioned to what JELADO calls the "white tag,"

but the period from the end of the war to the change in denim fabric

is the transitional period.

This is a pair of black tag denim jeans.

 

The denim is 15 oz, and because we use uneven yarn, as you wear it and it ages, it will develop vertical fading that resembles falling rain.

 

The true appeal of denim is undoubtedly its fading. Fading is essential to wearing denim, and it varies greatly from person to person, so I believe this is denim's greatest charm.

 

We have increased production by 400 units this time, so for customers who couldn't purchase it during the last arrival in December, or for those who are considering buying it now, I believe this is a chance to get your hands on it. Please take this opportunity to try it on and consider it at the store.
