The design is based on a collared sports jacket from the 1930s by a brand called HERCULES.

 

*What is HERCULES?

One of the three major American store brands:

- Sears

- Montgomery Ward

- J.C. Penney

 

HERCULES was a private brand of Sears, one of the aforementioned brands.

 

Hercules was founded in 1908 and disappeared around 1965.

Among Sears' private brands,

it was popular with workmen.

It was undoubtedly one of Sears' leading brands.

 

Being a 1930s style,

details can be seen throughout.

 

First, there is a "chin strap" at the neck.

 

What is a "chin strap"?

It's a strap that fastens along the neck to prevent wind from entering the collar. "Chin" in chin strap refers to the jaw.

 

And the zipper end is a grommet zipper specification.

This is a detail unique to jackets from this era.

There's a pocket with a ball chain on the left chest.

At the hem, there are diagonal slash pockets. The ball chain is also a common detail for this era.

 

(Ventilation)

And as an unseen detail,

there's ventilation under the armpits.

Ventilation holes are included for improved breathability.

You've probably seen two-part yokes, which are common, but this one is a three-part yoke.

This is what excited me the most.

(Double D-rings)

The sides have double D-ring adjusters.

These are used to cinch and adjust the hem.

 

(Lining)

The lining would normally be wool melton, but as a JELADO bespoke item, it uses a thick cotton-rayon fabric that is easy to put on and take off. The smooth lining makes this a welcome feature.
