This is the double rider's Rebel Jacket.

As is familiar with JELADO, this item is of course based on vintage items.

The vintage piece used as the base is the 2 Star rider's jacket made by Wind Word, a brand of Montgomery Ward.

The patterns from that time would have been too awkward to wear today, so new patterns were made to suit modern fashions.

 

 

 

 

 

The material used is horsehide that is approximately 1.6 mm thick and is combination tanned (chrome x tannin).

After tanning with chrome, the solvent is washed away and the leather is tanned again with tannin to bring out the best in the tannin and give the leather a moderate weightiness and a more comfortable feel when worn.

After dyeing the base light brown, we sprayed on black using a hill dyeing method at a long-established finishing factory in Tokyo. This is what is known as brown-core leather.

 

This time, in order to make a simpler rider's jacket, we removed the epaulets and did not use quilting or padding, making it a leather jacket that can be worn all year round.

Since there is no quilting, the leather jacket is less bulky and more stylish.

 

 

 

 

 

 

However, for those who would still like quilting and epaulets, JELADO also offers a pattern with the same specifications in its autumn/winter models.
