〜USMC M44 Monkey Pants〜

【Pre-order item, expected early March arrival】Monkey Trousers【CT11344】

Speaking of USMC M44 Monkey Pants,

These pants were issued to the Marine Corps, and

are popular in the vintage industry

by their nickname "Monkey Pants."

The origin of their name is as follows...

They feature large, horizontally-oriented cargo pockets with flaps.

These large pockets were designed to hold a poncho,

and the flaps were added to prevent items from falling out.

These pockets are said to resemble a monkey's backside,

hence the name "Monkey Pants."

The M44s were manufactured for a very short period of just

1 year and 3 months, from July 1944 to around October 1945.

Furthermore, because they were issued to the "elite few"

of the US Marine Corps, the overall production volume was low,

making them quite valuable in the vintage market.

The US Marine Corps actually wore them during...

・The Battle of Iwo Jima (Feb 19 - Mar 26, 1945)

・Around the Battle of Okinawa (Mar 26 - Sep 7, 1945)

And after World War II,

・The Korean War (Jun 25, 1950 - Jul 27, 1953)

It seems they were worn extensively during these periods.

JELADO's Monkey Pants use herringbone material.

Additionally, they are dyed with vat dye.

And the buttons are doughnut buttons,

adding to their vintage appeal.

By wearing them consistently, you can enjoy their aging process.

They pair well with native pattern half-length coats or

leather jackets... and even

coveralls. They are very versatile.

I also recommend pairing them with chambray shirts.
