The cold weather returned for a few days, making me regret putting away my heavy outerwear, but it seems it will warm up again from the weekend.

Even so, the unstable days are likely to continue with more cold days ahead, so I'd like to introduce an item that can be worn as an outer layer when it's warm and as an inner layer when it's cold, making it incredibly versatile.

 

 

JELADO Expedition Sweat Cardigan【AB02221】

 

 

 

This is the EXPEDITION SWEAT CARDIGAN, produced in collaboration with Riding High.

For the color variations, we reproduced the rare and highly acclaimed colors of the 90s, Grape and Green Apple.

In the 2000s, full-snap versions were highly valued, and we believe that rare color items were also highly regarded at that time.

 

 

 

It is knitted with 100% cotton US mixed open-end yarn, with 14/- (open-end yarn) for the face yarn, 20/- (right-twisted) for the middle yarn, and 10/- for the back yarn.

To achieve the volume of the back yarn, we modified the knitting machine parts, and for the gauge of the knitting machine, we developed our original 12G and needles in consultation with knitters, prioritizing the reproducibility of the face.

 

 

 

We also paid close attention to the brushing method, using an American brushing machine to reproduce the vintage-like brushed back texture.

To recreate the dry fabric feel of that era, the fabric is degreased after knitting.

 

 

 

We focused on reproducing the fabric texture, achieving high quality such as the stiffness of the vintage-like fabric and the appearance of the front stitches.

The sewing is also carefully done on the degreased stiff fabric, and double-needle stitching is used to connect each part.

We believe we have reproduced the highly regarded Reverse Weave at a high level.

 

 

This sweat cardigan is extremely convenient for throwing on lightly, whether you prefer a regular fit or an oversized look.

〜USMC M44 Monkey Pants〜

【Pre-order item, arriving early March】Monkey Trousers【CT11344】

Speaking of USMC M44 Monkey Pants,

these were pants issued to the Marines,

and they are a popular item in the vintage industry

under the nickname 'Monkey Pants'.

The origin of their name is as follows...

They feature large, horizontal cargo pockets with flaps.

These large pockets were designed to hold

a poncho, and the flaps were added

to prevent the contents from falling out.

These pockets are said to resemble a monkey's backside,

hence the name "Monkey Pants."

The production period for the M44 was

actually very short, just "one year and three months,"

from July 1944 to around October 1945.

Also, because they were issued to the

"elite few" of the U.S. Marine Corps,

the overall production volume was small, which is why they

are traded at quite high prices in the vintage market.

The periods when the U.S. Marine Corps

actually wore them were:

・Battle of Iwo Jima (February 19 – March 26, 1945)

・Around the Battle of Okinawa (March 26 – September 7, 1945).

Also, after World War II,

・Korean War (June 25, 1950 – July 27, 1953)

they seem to have been widely worn.

JELADO's Monkey Pants, however,

use herringbone material.

Furthermore, they are dyed with vat dyes.

And the buttons are donut buttons,

which also creates a vintage feel.

 By wearing them consistently, you can

enjoy their aging process.

Half-length coats with native patterns,

leather jackets... and even

coveralls all go very well with them,

and I also recommend pairing them with

a chambray shirt.
