Perfect for Japan's Climate: Colimbo's Jungle Fatigue ~Flagship Store~
Share
Thank you for always visiting our store.
With the change of seasons, many of you might be wondering what kind of outerwear to wear.
Today, we're introducing the Jungle Fatigue Jacket, a new arrival from Colimbo, which will be a great asset from now until early summer.

COLIMBO / SOUTHERNMOST BUSH JACKET 3rd
As the name "Jungle" suggests, the Jungle Fatigue Jacket is a lightweight outer layer of the US military that was used in tropical and subtropical regions during the Vietnam War in the 1960s.

The material is cotton poplin, which was adopted in the early stages of the Vietnam War to cope with the rainforest climate.

Poplin fabric has fine horizontal ridges because it has twice as many warp threads as weft threads. It is a very breathable, thin fabric, but it is also highly durable due to the high thread count.
However, poplin apparently did not have enough tear strength to withstand use in the dense jungles of Vietnam, and its lifespan was short, being quickly replaced by ripstop fabric after its introduction.

~USMC M44 Monkey Pants~
【Pre-order item, arriving early March】Monkey Trousers【CT11344】
The USMC M44 Monkey Pants are pants issued to the Marine Corps,
and are a popular item in the vintage industry with the nickname "Monkey Pants."
The origin of the name is...
These are large, horizontal cargo pockets with flaps.
These large pockets were adopted for carrying a 'poncho',
and the reason for the flaps was to prevent the contents from falling out.
These pockets resemble the buttocks of a monkey, which is why they are called "Monkey Pants."
The M44 was actually produced for a very short period of '1 year and 3 months',
from July 1944 to around October 1945.
Also, because they were issued to the US Marine Corps, a 'small elite force',
the total production volume was low, so they are traded at very high prices in the vintage market.
The period during which the US Marine Corps actually wore them was...
・Battle of Iwo Jima (Feb. 19 - Mar. 26, 1945)
・Around the Battle of Okinawa (Mar. 26 - Sep. 7, 1945).
Also, after World War II,
・Korean War (Jun. 25, 1950 - Jul. 27, 1953)
It seems they were worn a lot during these times.
Jelado's Monkey Pants use herringbone for the material.
Furthermore, they are dyed with vat dye.
And the buttons are donut buttons, which also creates a vintage feel.
You can enjoy the aging process by wearing them thoroughly.
Half-length coats with native patterns and
Leather jackets... and even
They go very well with coveralls, and more.
I also recommend pairing them with a chambray shirt.
Please make a reservation at the store or online.
Thank you.
