First, regarding this Ciggy Shirt,

The most notable detail is surely the asymmetrical

"Gacha Pocket," isn't it?

 

(Gacha Pocket)

 

BIG YANK, which could be called a pioneer of "Gacha Pockets",

is a long-established brand founded in 1919,

and in 2011, it made a long-awaited real-name复刻.

It is a popular workwear brand, both then and now.

 

The official name of this Gacha Pocket is

"Convenience Pocket",

and it obtained a patent in 1929.

 

The long vertical pocket has a pen holder.

 

It's common in work shirts,

so I won't go into detail, but since it's a gacha pocket,

there's a pocket on the other side.

The small square pocket is called a

"Cigarette Pocket",

and cigarettes were kept there.

 

This pocket is made with a "bag sewing" specification,

so it is designed to prevent cigarettes from getting damp.

 

It's not open front,

but a half-zip specification,

On a regular shirt, when you unbutton the cuff,

the "gauntlet placket" causes it to split open.

 

 

In contrast, BIG YANK adopts a "storm cuff",

where a cuff is added to a short sleeve.

By omitting the process of the gauntlet placket,

it not only improves production efficiency,

but also serves to prevent wind from entering.

 

Speaking of preventing wind from entering,

we can't forget this either...

 

There's a short chin strap at the neckline.

This is called a "choko-chin" (short chin strap),

and by fastening it to the button on the opposite side of the zipper,

it prevents wind from getting in.

 

The fabric used for this Ciggy Shirt, incorporating these special details,

is packed with the commitment of our representative, Goto, and is

the "ultimate twisted chambray fabric."

 

Since it's sulfur-dyed,

you can enjoy vintage-like aging and fading...

That's what this piece is all about.

 

The color wasn't what was originally intended,

but the reddish, grayish-brown had a nice atmosphere, so it was adopted.
