〜41 Service Shoes〜
Good evening. This is Uemura from WEST.
Today, I'd like to introduce the 41 Service Shoes,
which have also arrived at WEST.
U.S.N 41 Service Shoes【JB94902】
These are recreated based on 1940s service shoes,
using brown-cored kip glass leather.
The shoe last used is a reproduction of a 1941 Navy last,
which was owned by Ryo Suzuki.
These service shoes are meticulously crafted
to be as close to the vintage originals as possible.
Simple, functional, and without waste.
It's no exaggeration to say that these U.S.N 41 Service Shoes
represent the ultimate form of a leather shoe.
The dressy look of glass leather makes these service shoes
versatile for fashion, formal occasions, and everything in between,
so we highly recommend them.
Please come and try them on at the store.
We look forward to seeing you.
〜USMC M44 Monkey Pants〜
【Pre-order item, expected to arrive early March】Monkey Trousers【CT11344】
USMC M44 Monkey Pants were trousers issued to the Marine Corps,
and are a popular item in the vintage industry under the nickname "Monkey Pants."
The origin of their name is as follows...
These pants feature large, horizontal cargo pockets with flaps.
These large pockets were designed to hold ponchos,
and the flaps were included to prevent contents from falling out.
Because these pockets resemble the buttocks of a monkey,
they became known as "Monkey Pants."
The production period for the M44 was actually very short, lasting only "1 year and 3 months,"
from July 1944 to around October 1945.
Additionally, they were issued to the "elite few"
U.S. Marine Corps, so the overall production volume was small, leading to them being traded
at quite high prices in the vintage market.
The periods when the U.S. Marine Corps actually wore them include:
・Battle of Iwo Jima (February 19, 1945 - March 26, 1945)
・Around the Battle of Okinawa (March 26, 1945 - September 7, 1945).
Also, after World War II,
・Korean War (June 25, 1950 - July 27, 1953)
It seems they were frequently worn during these periods.
JELADO's Monkey Pants use herringbone material.
Furthermore, they are dyed with vat dyes.
And the buttons are donut buttons,
adding to the vintage feel.
By wearing them regularly, you can enjoy
the aging process.
They pair well with Native-patterned half-length coats,
leather jackets... and even
coveralls. They have excellent compatibility with these items,
and I also recommend pairing them with a chambray shirt.
Please make your reservations at the store or online.
Thank you.
