~USMC M44 Monkey Pants~

【Pre-order item, expected arrival early March】Monkey Trousers【CT11344】

Speaking of USMC M44 Monkey Pants,

these pants were issued to the Marine Corps,

and are a popular item in the vintage industry,

affectionately known as "Monkey Pants."

The origin of that name is here...

Long, horizontal cargo pockets with flaps.

These large pockets were designed to hold ponchos,

and the flaps were added to prevent contents from falling out.

Because these pockets resemble a monkey's rear end,

they are called "Monkey Pants."

The M44 was actually produced for a very short period of "one year and three months,"

from July 1944 to around October 1945.

Since it was also issued to the "elite few"

US Marine Corps, the overall production volume was low,

and therefore, it fetches quite high prices in the vintage market.

The period when the US Marine Corps actually wore them is...

・Battle of Iwo Jima (February 19, 1945 - March 26, 1945)

・Around the Battle of Okinawa (March 26, 1945 - September 7, 1945).

Also, after World War II,

・Korean War (June 25, 1950 - July 27, 1953)

It seems they were frequently worn during these periods.

JELADO's Monkey Pants use herringbone fabric.

Furthermore, they are dyed with vat dye.

And the buttons are doughnut buttons,

adding to the vintage feel.

By wearing them consistently, you can enjoy the aging process.

Native pattern half-length coats and

leather jackets... and even

they pair very well with coveralls, so

I recommend pairing them with a chambray shirt.

Please reserve in store or online.

Thank you.
