As I announced yesterday,

today I will also introduce new arrivals from The 2 Monkeys.

The 2 Monkeys Atelier Coat 【TM01443】

 

First, let's talk about the shape. This is a shop coat.

 

The "shop" in shop coat refers to a workshop or factory.

 

Since The 2Monkeys is French-based,

the naming is different.

In France, the word "atelier" refers to a workshop or factory,

so we are releasing it under the name "Atelier Coat."

 

Smocks were the mainstream, but as time passed,

they evolved into front-opening coats.

 

Older atelier coats often used linen,

and the collar shape, compared to American ones,

is smaller, with a wider angle at the collar tips.

(American ones are sharper and a bit longer)

 

I personally like how the front pockets

are rounded rather than angular.

 

 

I also like the pointed ends of the sleeve straps,

 

and the prominent stitching further enhances its appeal.

 

The rustic texture unique to linen creates atmosphere,

making this a very French coat with excellent breathability and quick-drying properties.

It is extremely limited in quantity,

The 41 Khaki stencil, which ages with repeated wear and washing,

will gradually fade from its initial dark stencil with washing,

The old 41 Khaki was discontinued with its final release in May 2023.

 

To release a new chino pant to replace it,

we cut and analyzed a highly sought-after vintage 41 Khaki,

and produced the fabric from scratch.

 

Using American deep south cotton, we recreated the natural slub yarn.

 

While the previous 41 Khaki was dyed with reactive dyes,

this 41 Khaki is dyed with vat dyes.

 

The 41 Khaki, made with American cotton, shuttle looms, and vat dyes,

is finished to retain the atmosphere and fabric feel of the original.

 

The ultimate chino pant, with meticulous attention to detail in its raw cotton, yarn, weave, and dye…

That is JELADO's Last Resort Chino Cloth "41 Khaki."

 

When it was released previously, it sold out incredibly fast,

and there are many customers waiting for the next restock,

making it a very popular item, so

"Last Resort" means "trump card" or "ace in the hole."

If the white tag is the first phase,

then the "blue tag" series is the fourth phase, following the black and brown tags.

 

While the white and black tags focus on LEVI'S,

and the brown tag focuses on 41 Khaki...

What about the blue tag??

 

The blue tag is a collection centered around workwear,

and when it comes to representative workwear,

"Lee" is indispensable.

 

The LAST RESORT "blue tag" focuses on

light-ounce denim workwear.

 

Since it's 10.5 oz denim,

unlike the white and black tags, the lower ounce blue tag will undoubtedly

show a different kind of aging.

 

In that sense, too,

this is a very exciting series.

The "LASTRESORT 41Khaki" that we are currently taking reservations for

has the same base, but the fabric is different.

 

It's a 100% cotton twisted yarn twill fabric.

The warp uses sulfur-dyed twisted yarn, and the weft uses

sulfur-dyed black yarn, resulting in a thick and firm fabric.

 

Since it's 100% cotton, it will age nicely as you wear it,

so we hope you enjoy how its appearance changes over time.

 

Since this is produced only once a year, we believe there are customers

who have been eagerly awaiting it.

Reservations for this long-awaited "41 Covert" are finally starting.

In December, a small quantity of free stock

of the Age of Longing 407EXX arrived, which sold out in an instant.

 

As you may know, the LAST RESORT "Black Tag"

is the second installment of the Last Resort series,

following the original "White Tag" that was released earlier.

 

Compared to the white tag, the black tag denim is stronger in blackness, not blueness.

 

JELADO categorizes them as early 1947 and late 1947 models.

The white tag, with its strong blue denim fabric,

is positioned as the late 1947 model, and the 501XX of this era is called:

 

"The greatest masterpiece in 501XX history."

 

If you want to know why it's called that, please visit JELADO WEST! (laughs)

 

The white tag denim fabric focuses on the 50s XX fabric.

 

So what about the "black tag" with its strong blackness??

 

World War II ended in 1945, and during the war,

each Levi's factory was producing the beloved "War Model."

 

After the war ended, even though material controls were lifted,

it took quite some time for the details to return to their original form.

 

The reason is that a lot of the denim fabric and auxiliary materials used in the War Model remained.

 

LEVI'S denim fabrics include No.1 denim to No.3 denim.

(I only know up to No.3, but if there's a No.4 or something, please let me know.)

This refers to the quality of the denim fabric.

 

No. 2 is a cheaper version of No. 1 denim,

and No. 3 is a cheaper version of No. 2 denim, to put it simply.

So, wouldn't the denim used in the War Model have been No. 2 or No. 3 denim?

 

After this denim fabric was used up,

it transitioned to what JELADO calls the "white tag."

The black tag denim represents the transitional period from the end of the war to the switch in denim fabrics.

 

The ounce count is 15 oz, and since it uses slubby yarn,

as it ages through repeated wear,

it will develop vertical fading that resembles falling rain.

 

The real appeal of denim is, after all,

"fading."

Fading, which is essential for "wearing" denim,

will be completely different for each person, so this appeal

is, I believe, the greatest charm of denim.

 

This time, production has been increased by 400 pieces,
