About Inseam, Outseam & Twill
I apologize for the long hiatus.
This Vintage Blog will cover some basic information,
but it will also touch on topics related to JELADO denim.
This applies not only to denim,
but also to chinos and other types of pants.
First, let's talk about inseams and outseams.
The inseam refers to the "inner seam" of pants.

The outseam, conversely,
refers to the "outer seam."
(Outseam of 30's FOREMOST)
As is the case with JELADO denim,
denim that has been finished to prevent fraying at the fabric edge
is called selvedge denim.
Selvedge (edges) with a red line are called "red ear" (LEVI'S),
and those with a blue line are called "blue ear" (Lee).
These are found on the outseam side.

Denim fabric is made using a twill weave.
Can you see the diagonal lines in the fabric when you look closely?

The edge of the pocket in the second image
should make it clear.
JELADO denim uses a right-hand twill weave,
reproducing the Levi's XX fabric.
This means that when washed,
the fabric will shrink, causing the outseam of the left leg to twist
towards the front.
You can see the outseam twisting when comparing the worn sample (2 years of wear) with the new product.
It's easier to see when viewed from the front.
And Shuu-san's 301EXX, which he's breaking in, looks like this...
I traced the outseam in white,
and you can see how it twists.
This is one of the characteristics of vintage denim,
and it also applies to LAST RESORT denim.
I hope you can enjoy this aspect
when you wash your denim.

performed scientific analysis, and created our original LAST RESORT denim from scratch,
which is as close as possible to the XX fabric.
