As we approach the New Year holidays, leather jacket sales have become very active, so I'd like to introduce a few items!

JELADO 44Leather Jacket Horse hide Semi-aniline Finish【JP94409】¥176,000 JPY

This jacket uses 1.6mm thick horsehide leather, tanned with a combination (chrome x tannin) process.
After chrome tanning, the solvent is washed off and retanned with tannin, which brings out the best qualities of tannin, creating a leather with a moderate sense of weight and a richer patina as it is worn.
The base leather is dyed light brown, and then a Tokyo-based long-established finishing factory applies black through a "hill dyeing" (oka-zome) process, resulting in a tea-core leather.
This time, to bring out a stronger black, it's finished with semi-aniline, mixing pigment and dye in equal parts.
The dye, which colors the base, and the pigment, which forms a thin film on top, match perfectly, creating a beautiful aging process as it's worn.
Unlike 100% pigment, the leather retains its softness, and with the thin film, the base color quickly emerges as it's worn.

This is a hybrid material that combines the soft texture of chrome tanning with the aging properties of tannin tanning.
