we are releasing this from The 2 Monkeys.

The part you step on is made with a stitchdown construction.

This is a common construction method for sandals.

 

And the arch of the foot, which is the waist part of the footbed,

is constricted because the contact area is small.

 

*Normal sandals do not have

a constricted waist part in the footbed like AUGUSTUS.

For this reason, stitchdown construction is often used

from the waist to the heel.

 

This means that from the waist to the heel part,

McKay construction is used.

This sandal is produced with two construction methods,

making it a rare specification.

 

The heel side of the upper has leather inserted

underneath the footbed from the outside,

and sewn down to the midsole from above.

 

The leather used for the upper and footbed

is horsebutt, and both Camel and Brown

have shrunk uppers.

Therefore, the fact that the grain pattern is different in each pair

is also one of the charms of these sandals.

 

Camel is impregnated with white wax,

and Brown with oil, so

they have a sophisticated sandal aesthetic,

making them truly unique pairs.

 

The sole is Vibram.
