at the 2023SS preview event
held last October, has arrived!
The 2 Monkeys French Work Blouse【TM 81429】
LEVI'S also had them,
and they weren't called jackets, but rather blouses,
such as the 1880s
LEVI'S Triple Pleat Blouse.
The word "blouse"
originally comes from the French word "blouse",
which I believe transformed into the word "blouse".
So perhaps the denim jackets that many of you know
didn't originate in America, but rather in France?
※"Blouse" (ブルーズ) refers to workers' jackets.
The jacket we are introducing today
is a reproduction of a jacket that could only be seen in photographs,
possibly the root of the denim jacket,
taken in the Normandy region of France in the late 19th century.
Made of linen, it is breathable and
can be worn immediately.
As for the silhouette,
it has a wide body and thick sleeves.
It features pintucks on the front,
and gathers around the collar, back, and cuffs.
A cinch back is attached above the waistband.
This blouse features such carefully selected details
that several factories refused to produce it.
And when you get your hands on this blouse,
I personally want you to notice
the buttonholes.
Although it looks like a jacket,
you might expect horizontal buttonholes, like on a 407EXX or other jackets,
but because it's a blouse,
it has vertical buttonholes.
And one more thing.
Jacket pockets are usually visible on the front,
but this one has pockets
along the seam running from the side to the hem.
This makes the pockets less conspicuous.
