Today, I'd like to talk a little about the
1947 501XX, which was the base model.
World War II began in 1939.
America faced a shortage of supplies.
As a result, America issued
"material controls."
This led to changes in the details
of the 501XX that LEVI'S had been producing.
This is how the S501XX and S506XX were born.

Although the war ended in 1945
and material controls were lifted,
it took time for all details to be restored.
*Some details were never brought back.
The reason for this is that
the factory still had leftover fabric and parts
that had been used for the S501XX and S506XX.
The 1946 model, known as a transitional period,
used fabrics from the wartime period,
resulting in denim that vintage enthusiasts would describe as
"pitch black."
After these were used up,
the 1947 501XX, considered the masterpiece in 501XX history,
was born.
・Features of the early 1947 model (1940s XX fabric/black tag)
Differences from the 1950s XX fabric (white tag) are:
① Length of side stitching (1940s > 1950s)
② Thickness of belt loops (1940s > 1950s)
③ Raw edge at the bottom of the button fly
④ Rivet lettering closer to the center
The 301EXX accurately captures these features.
Therefore, it's a denim that's enjoyable to look at and even more enjoyable to wear.
Due to its strong slub, the vertical fading is distinct,
and the aging process is completely different from the white tag.
