Today's featured product is this.

 

JELADO Ciggy Shirt (Ciggy Shirt) [AG81118]

 

 

 

 

The base vintage shirt is from BIG YANK, a workwear brand from the 1930s to 40s.

We dismantled it and thoroughly reproduced the fabric characteristics to create this slub chambray shirt.

 

The color of this fabric was not what we originally intended, but it turned out to be a wonderful cinnamon color,

so we decided to release it.

 

We previously introduced the WEST exclusive Ciggy Shirt in a blog post.

Although we explained the detailed features there,

since the fabric is different, we will introduce it again.

 

 

 

 

(Collar part)

It features double stitching, which is also seen in old shirts.

In newer eras, this detail changes to single stitching.

 

 

 

(Neck part)

This features a detail called "Choko-chin" and

a half-zip type with a U-shaped end.

In this era and earlier, half-zip items have a zipper that extends from the neck to roughly the chest area.

*Although this is a shirt, the same applies to jackets and sweatshirts.

 

 

 

(Pocket part)

The mismatched pockets, characteristic of BIG YANK, which was the base.

The left chest pocket is called a cigarette pocket...

 

 

 

(Cigarette pocket)

By sewing it as a bag and making it float like this,

it prevents cigarettes from getting damp.

This detail is also reproduced just like the vintage original.

 

 

 

 

 

(Shoulder/arm circumference, armpit to sleeve, armpit to hem)

The stitching in these areas is triple-stitched.

The main purpose is reinforcement through stitching, but when worn repeatedly

and washed, the fabric becomes dense, creating a distinctive "atari" (fading/creasing) effect.

 

This chambray is sulfur-dyed, so

you can fully enjoy its aging process.

 

And finally, this detail.

 

 

(Sleeve part)

This is a unique detail from BIG YANK.

This cuff part is called a "storm cuff."

It is also known as a YANK cuff, and this detail is

a cuff detail seen since the 1930s that omits the placket.

It is characterized by being wind-resistant and easy to roll up.
