The Smoker Shirt is a staple JELADO product.

The 2023SS model will be released in light-ounce selvedge denim.

 

It was produced based on the "BIG YANK" gacha pocket shirts of the 1930s.

 

The small pocket on the front is a reproduction of the vintage-specific bag seam.

It's a detail that appeals to vintage lovers.

 

The stitching is triple-stitched on the shoulders and arms,

making it a durable construction.

 

The pocket part is double-stitched.

This creates an atmosphere that doesn't detract from the original.

 

The buttons are hexagonal, as seen on old work shirts,

and the gusset features an ear with a run-off stitch.

 

The original "BIG YANK" of the time had both ear gussets and bag-stitched gussets.

Therefore, to retain the atmosphere of that time,

we have chosen the ear-gusset type.

 

Cotton thread is used for sewing,

and when washed and tumble-dried,

the threads tighten, causing the shoulder and arm areas to develop more pronounced fading.

 

The sizing is designed for a neat fit.

For 2023SS, we will be releasing another Smoker Shirt in a different material.

 

It's made from the ultimate twisted yarn chambray fabric.

To create this ultimate twisted yarn chambray fabric, JELADO dismantled a vintage BIG YANK shirt from the 1930s-40s from our collection.

We meticulously reproduced the fabric's characteristics, including the yarn count, thread density, irregular yarn shape, and twist (the warp thread is a plied yarn combining two different counts).

This resulted in an exceptional chambray fabric.

 

Since it is sulfur-dyed,

you can enjoy its aging process.

A power loom is used to achieve the texture of the 1930s and 40s.
