The back pocket is the face of the brand "Lee"

The back pocket is the face of the brand "Lee"

~The back pocket is the face of the brand~

This is a vintage blog.

This time we will introduce Lee's Lazy S.

I'm sure you've all seen it before.

In the back pocket of denim

It features stitching, which is the face of the brand.

So far, Vintage Blog has

We introduced LEVI'S and Wrangler.

Speaking of LEVI'S

The familiar arcuate stitch

(501XX/47 late model)

Speaking of Wrangler

Silent W (Oyama) introduced last time

(48-50s)

And speaking of Lee, here it is.

It's a Lazy S.

By the way, the back pocket of JELADO is

The stitch will look like this.

LEVI'S has arcuate stitching

In fact, until around 1943, when the patent was obtained,

Lee also had arcuate stitching.

This is not only seen in Lee but also in other denim brands.

The store brand FOREMOST might be a good example.

Levi's obtained a patent for the arcuate stitch in 43.

Lee had to come up with a new stitch.

Reverse arcuate stitching seen during the World Wars

(1943-45)

Reverse arcuate stitch (1943-45)

This pattern existed for only two years until the Lazy S was released in 1945.

There are also versions with no stitching on the back pockets.

It may have been a desperate measure.

And finally, in 45, Lee also introduced the Lazy S.

Look in the back pocket and you'll know it's Lee

The facial details are finally coming into being.

*Origin of Lazy S

Cowboys were pushing cattle

The branding design is the motif

Lazy S means a sideways S.

It may be a common detail now, but

I saw this blog and found out there was a story like this.

I would be happy if everyone knew about this.

And since we're on the subject of back pockets, I'd like to introduce one more detail.

Thread Rivet

(43-45/101B World War Model)

Thread Rivet (43-45/101B World War Model)

(40s/center red tag)

Thread rivet (40s/center red tag)

The stitching on the pocket

It's called a threaded rivet.

So why were thread rivets adopted?

This is because iron rivets would damage the saddle or chair.

Lee uses a unique bar reinforcement system.

At LEVI'S, we use rivets.

It has been used since the 1960s.

Lee has been doing this since 1924.

In terms of public perception

LEVI'S>Lee, I guess.

Unlike LEVI'S, it started as a food company.

Lee's unique soft ideas

It is also used in the current model.

It was a cutting-edge brand at the time.

This is just my personal opinion.

This time, the back pocket is the face of the brand.

Lee's "Lazy S"

Reinforced with bar instead of rivets

This was a BLOG about "Thread Rivets".

Earlier, there was a picture of the JELADO back pocket...

JELADO is a brand that produces products based on vintage items.

We also carry denim.

To analyze XX fabrics from the 50s

Cutting the deadstock denim from that time with scissors

It was scientifically analyzed and found to be extremely similar to XX fabric.

We created our original fabric, LAST RESORT denim, from scratch.
