zipper fly

zipper fly

~ Today it's zipper fly ~

It seems normal now

Zipper fly pants

I think everyone is wearing them.

When did zippers come into use on pants?

Did you know someday?

The first in the world to introduce the zipper fly

It's Lee, not LEVI'S.

"Lee 1926Z" sold in 101

This model is from the movie Rebel Without a Cause

James Dean wore it

A model that will become a masterpiece.

However, in the previous year, 1925, Lee

The overalls used are featured.

If you like vintage clothing, you may have heard of it.

This is Lee WHIZIT.

As far as I know, hookless fasteners

I think the WHIZIT we used was the first model to use a zipper.

So what about LEVI'S?

In 1951, they released the 503ZXX (Boys).

The 1954ZXX was released in 501.

501 "Z" The Z in XX stands for zipper.

Until then, 501 was button fly.

It got a lot of attention, but I'll tell you the results first.

It has become something that can hardly be called a bad work.

Let me explain a little about the 501ZXX.

During this 501ZXX sales period

This was quite common in America.

That's a dryer.

As you all probably know,

At the time, Levi's used shrink wrap, which allowed the pants to shrink and fit better by passing them through water.

However, water-resistant denim was very popular in the United States at the time.

What happens if you dry it in a dryer?

It shrinks too much as you might imagine.

So what happens to the zipper rail then? Well… it will be damaged.

This is why the 501ZXX was called a dud.

The 501ZXX was removed from the price list in 1966.

The successor model, the 502, was then released.

Unlike the 501ZXX, the 502 has a different fabric.

It changes from shrink to pre-shrunk.

This is for zippers such as 505 and 606.

The model used is pre-shrunk.

It is being used.

What is Pre-Shrunk?

This is denim that has been treated to prevent shrinkage.

By changing to a fabric that is less likely to shrink,

Besides the 501, Levi's has produced other masterpieces.

There are things to gain from failure

It must have been big?

So that's the story of the zipper fly.

That's all for now.
