The 2 Monkeys を代表するレザージャケット、ついに再入荷~Flagship Store~

The 2 Monkeys' iconic leather jacket is finally back in stock! ~Flagship Store~

Thank you for always visiting our store.

The other day, our leather jacket, one of The 2 Monkeys' signature outerwear pieces, was restocked. This time, we'd like to give you a detailed look at the Leather Waistcoat.

The 2 Monkeys Leather Waistcoat【TM83434】

In the 18th century, beaver hunting flourished among settlers in parts of North America that were still under French rule. These French people were also not afraid to travel to uncharted lands for fur trade with Native Americans.

This jacket was made with the assumption that settlers of that time would have worn such outerwear when traveling through rugged, unexplored lands. What kind of garment would have been created if an 18th-century French-style waistcoat (jacket) had been made using the techniques of Native Americans, who already wore leather garments at that time? This Leather Waistcoat was created based on that hypothesis.

Today, a waistcoat refers to a buttoned, sleeveless vest worn as part of a three-piece suit.

However, in France until the mid-18th century, long-sleeved garments like the one above were called waistcoats (or "vestes" in French). This is a silk waistcoat (veste) made in France in 1747.

This French-style garment was made from sturdy leather for traveling through rugged, unexplored terrain. Since it was originally a vest, it has many buttons,

and pre-bent sleeves, as was typical of the era.

Furthermore, it incorporates details from 18th-century French style, such as the unique back stitching for cinching,

and the gussets at the hem.

Considering its compatibility with American casual style, both colors are made of vegetable-tanned horsehide and tailored to a size that can be worn seamlessly over a denim jacket. This camel color is a rough-textured horsehide that has been shrunk to add thickness.

The dark brown uses fine-grained horsehide with a natural texture. It is finished with black dye, allowing you to enjoy the aging process as the black fades from a deep, dark brown.

Currently, all sizes of dark brown are in stock, and camel is available in size S. Camel will be restocked soon, so please give it a try.

~Information on Pre-order Items~

We would like to introduce the following items that are now available for pre-order.

【Pre-order Item, Arriving June】JELADO Rebel Jacket Horse Hide Semi Aniline Finish Black【SG71428】

The Rebel Jacket is

a rider's jacket that has been a long-standing staple at JELADO.

To make it a simple rider's jacket,

we removed the epaulets.

Furthermore, instead of quilting,

we used cupra to make it easier to put on and take off,

resulting in a garment that prioritizes comfort.

Made from 1.6mm thick leather with a semi-aniline finish,

it offers a softness not found in 100% pigmented leather. This is also "tea core leather,"

allowing you to enjoy the aging process with repeated wear.

There's one more item available for pre-order.

This is also a very popular product,

which sold out extremely quickly when it was released last time,

with sizes disappearing in a flash.

【Pre-order Item, Arriving June】JELADO CM47 HBT Baker Pants【CT03347】

These are baker pants made from "Herringbone Twill" fabric,

adopted in 1947.

※ What is Herringbone?

"Herringbone" =

"herring (fish)" and "bone"

The pattern is derived from its resemblance to the bones visible when a herring fish is split open.

Baker pants were worn on the battlefield,

but also during indoor work.

It is also said that the name "Baker Pants" came from the fact that bakers wore them.

Since they are made of herringbone twill fabric,

they are thick and durable.

Also, because they are 100% cotton, you can enjoy the aging process with repeated wear.

We have also been accepting pre-orders for this item for a while now, and it was a popular item at the 2025SS preview.

【Pre-order Item, Arriving Early March】Monkey Trousers【CT11344】

USMC M44 Monkey Pants are pants issued to the Marine Corps, and are a popular item in the vintage industry, affectionately known as "Monkey Pants." The origin of their name is as follows:

Long, horizontal cargo pockets with flaps.

These large pockets were adopted to hold a "poncho,"

and the flaps were added to prevent the contents from falling out.

These pockets are said to resemble a monkey's buttocks, which is why they are called "Monkey Pants."

The M44 had a very short production period of only "1 year and 3 months," from July 1944 to around October 1945.

Also, because they were issued to the "elite few" of the US Marine Corps,

the overall production volume was small, so they fetch quite high prices in the vintage market.

The periods when the US Marine Corps actually wore them include:

・Battle of Iwo Jima (Feb. 19 – Mar. 26, 1945)

・Battle of Okinawa (Mar. 26 – Sep. 7, 1945)

And after World War II:

・Korean War (Jun. 25, 1950 – Jul. 27, 1953)

They seem to have been widely worn during these times.

JELADO's Monkey Pants use herringbone as the material,

and are dyed with vat dye.

The buttons are donut buttons, which also create a vintage feel.

You can enjoy the aging process by wearing them thoroughly.

They pair well with Native American pattern half-length coats,

leather jackets... and even,

coveralls. They are extremely versatile,

and I also recommend pairing them with chambray shirts.

Please make your reservations online or in-store.

Thank you.

Popular items are now available for pre-order.

We look forward to your reservations.

Thank you.
