夏に最適──デニムモンキー ~Flagship Store~

Perfect for summer! Denim Monkey - Flagship Store

Thank you for always visiting us.

Summer is just around the corner. Today, we'd like to introduce a pair of pants with large-capacity pockets, perfect for the upcoming season when you'll want to go without an outer layer and avoid the hassle of carrying bags.

Yes, we're talking about Monkey Pants. And not just any Monkey Pants, but a version made with Last Resort denim.

Monkey Trousers【CT11344ID】

The biggest feature of Monkey Pants is the large pocket on the back, originally designed to store rations and grenades.

We have faithfully reproduced that as well.

What are Monkey Pants?

The M-44 Monkey Pants were developed in 1944, towards the end of World War II, and are characterized by their unique design and functionality.

Their production period was very short, from July 1944 to around October 1945. As they were supplied to the U.S. Marine Corps, a small elite unit, the overall production numbers were low, making these pants highly rare and valuable.

Monkey Pants were designed for field use, prioritizing ease of movement when crawling or bending forward.

Not only the back pockets, but also the side pockets are very spacious.

The fabric used is our Last Resort "Blue Tag" denim, which reproduces the light ounce denim of the 1940s.

What is Last Resort Blue Tag Denim?

Last Resort Blue Tag denim is a 10.5 oz fabric that is also a flagship product of JELADO. It was developed by deconstructing a 1940s LEE coverall and analyzing the yarn thickness, weave density, and slub intensity. As a result of this analysis, we used three different thicknesses of warp yarns randomly woven together to reproduce the faded vintage feel of existing fabrics, creating a fabric with an uneven vertical fade.

The weft yarn is dyed with sulfur to create a gray color. The fabric color is subdued, giving it a classic feel.

For these baker pants, we used gray stitching thread that blends well with the weft of the denim.

For the buttons, we used a faithful reproduction of the black painted laurel wreath buttons used during the war. The black paint will gradually peel off with use.

These Monkey Pants are packed with attention to detail. Currently, we only have golden sizes S, M, and L in stock. If you've been eyeing them, now's your chance!
