【Boots have arrived!】Check out how they age!

Good evening.

This is Komori from JELADO Ebisu store.

Thank you for visiting us again today.

Today, we'll start with this introduction.

JELADO the BOOTED ENGINEER BOOT BLACK (Tea Core)

【JB94901】Price ¥143,000 (tax included)

This is a new label from JELADO.

JELADO, which revives vintage workwear, military wear, and sportswear from the Golden Age of America, sometimes faithfully and sometimes with arrangements, is now launching a brand that carefully selects and develops boots and shoes based on vintage work boots and shoes to enhance the American casual style.

These vintage items possess distinctive details that set them apart from others of the same era, such as single leather soles, low heels, vamps that meet the heel counter pocket low on both sides, slightly wider shafts, reverse-curve buckles, sword-tip shaped instep strap ends, and gussets sewn later onto the instep.

For these vintage boots, we have changed the last, removed the toe cap, made adjustments to the base of the ankle strap, and used brown-core black horsebutt leather to create engineer boots that add new individuality to the vintage feel.

Sizes will be arriving regularly, so please try them on in-store.

We recommend checking the sizing.

We hope you'll look forward to JELADO's new label, "the BOOTED," in the future.

New product

Representative Goto's worn sample (approx. 2 months)

I think Representative Goto's aging process is incredibly fast.

He said he even wore them on rainy days.

The way the wrinkles form and where the brown core appears will differ depending on the shape of each person's foot, so you can enjoy wearing them.

I think they are engineer boots.

Next up is a new product from The 2 Monkeys.

The 2 Monkeys ELASTOS【TM01945】

Price ¥110,000 (tax included)

In the late 19th century in England and America, side-gore boots were one of the most commonly worn shoes. These shoes originated around 1830 and appeared as an innovative design that attached elastic fabric to both sides of the ankle, allowing them to be worn without shoelaces. J. Sparkes Hall of England patented them in 1851, and it is said that Queen Victoria (reigned 1837-1901) wore them daily.

The upper class wore embellished versions of these shoes, while the middle class wore simple black leather ones. Ryoma Sakamoto also wore such shoes, which may be related to the trade with England at the time.

The 2 Monkeys Elasto is a short boot that inherits the elegant style and details of 19th-century side-gore boots, while also being suitable for casual wear. It incorporates many elements of boots from that era, such as the V-shaped gore (elastic fabric), a design that creates a curved instep with a center seam without crimping, decorative stitching and perforations that are the origin of brogue, and a cap that protrudes towards the instep. These features make Elasto a timeless and casual boot that can be worn all year round.

The vivid color and antique feel are also attractive.

The new Albert Brown color has just arrived.

Side-gore boots are said to have been the most commonly worn shoes in England and America in the late 19th century (1850-1900). The 2 Monkeys ELASTOS is inspired by those from the mid-Victorian era (1860-80). While incorporating the elegant style and distinctive details of boots from that period, we have made them into short boots that can be worn all year round with casual styles. Of course, the ease of putting them on and taking them off remains an unchanging appeal, then and now. We have redesigned and incorporated elements of boots from that era, such as the large V-shaped gore (elastic fabric) on both sides of the ankle, a design that creates a curved instep with a center seam without crimping, decorative stitching and perforations that are the origin of modern brogues, and a cap that protrudes towards the instep. By combining the Goodyear welt and McKay construction methods, we have created a classical style with a significantly narrowed waist. This season, in addition to the Victorian Blue (a bluish-green) that continues from last season, we are offering a new color, Albert Brown (a warm-toned dark brown), which can be more naturally matched with casual styles, for a total of two color options.

The atmosphere is different from Victorian blue, and since they can be worn, your coordination options will expand.

I hope you choose your favorite color and wear them.

Side gore boots might also be good because you can wear them without tying laces.

The one I use is Oak Brown.

It's been six months since I started wearing them.

The color has changed and wrinkles have appeared.

As for maintenance, I brush them after wearing, and I apply cream about once every 1.5 to 2 months.

I look forward to enjoying the aging process even more in the future.

This is black.

Introducing VAUDEVILLE.

Vaudeville was a popular form of entertainment in America before the widespread adoption of cinema. During its heyday from around 1880 to 1920, numerous vaudeville theaters thrived in major cities like New York. The performances were diverse, including singing, dancing, comedy, and magic. Many early silent film stars, such as Charlie Chaplin, Buster Keaton, Laurel & Hardy, and the Marx Brothers, got their start in vaudeville. They traveled from theater to theater. The 2 Monkeys "VAUDEVILLE" boots are inspired by vaudeville actors, who were also traveling performers. (These are not reproductions of a specific vintage boot.) They draw inspiration from American and French boots from around 1910. They are cap-toe external blucher boots featuring a high toe, also known as a bulldog toe, and a quarter leather stitched with separate upper and lower parts. We combined an original last with a slightly oblique toe, a smaller cap, a larger quarter, a lower shaft, and a smaller heel to achieve the appearance of boots from that era. By combining two types of manufacturing methods, we tightly cinched the waist to reproduce the elegant silhouette of boots from that period. Inspired by the actors who prided themselves on their appearance, the toe has a unique shape with a line. The leather is smooth yet natural horsehide (horse front). Since the leather is not heavily "finished," you may see natural marks, such as tiger stripes and scratches, as you wear them, but these are all part of the charm of genuine horse leather. The soft leather molds wonderfully to your feet, making them surprisingly light and comfortable, just like the "SPORTIF" model.

Available in Black and Oak Brown. The Black color offers attractive aging with a brown core, while the Oak Brown has a deep, nuanced color and will age beautifully as the black dye used for finishing fades over time.
