COLIMBO has released the "TYPE G-1 JACKET," the ultimate leather jacket.
This season's "G-1" is arguably the best masterpiece yet.
COLIMBO Cloverfield Aviator’s JKT Type M-422A E.T.C【ZA-0120】
The "G-1" leather flight jacket is a symbol of the U.S. Navy Air Force. However, "G-1" only became its official name after 1947, and nearly identical flight jackets were made before then.
This model is based on the "pre-G-1" SPEC:M422a, a unique Navy code. It is a model that underwent its first revision after the initial production of similar flight jackets in the early 1940s.
Differences from the later G-1 include a slightly longer length, a slightly tighter body, and a sheepskin collar for warmth.
(Later G-1s had acrylic collars)
As it was for the Navy, water-resistant goatskin was used in anticipation of work on ships. This time, vegetable-tanned leather is dyed with aniline dye and then given a lacquer finish. We have reproduced the rugged texture of vintage leather.
The sleeves and hem feature double-layered wool ribs, just like the original.
A storm flap is also included for wind resistance. The lining uses a heavy cotton rayon satin fabric.
This leather jacket is packed with such attention to detail. All sizes from 38 (M) to 44 (XXL) are currently available. Please come and see it in store.
