I will talk a little about the LEVI'S 506XX, which is the base of the 407EXX.
Among vintage items, the value of this 506XX model has been increasing every year,
and its price has soared to a point where it is no longer affordable.
About five years ago, this was not the case,
and it was still within everyone's reach.
In the past, larger sizes were considered
unfashionable or uncool, leading to lower valuations.
However, the situation has now reversed, and larger sizes command higher prices.
While condition, color retention, and size are all factors,
even with 30-40% color retention, the current market price is at least
around 300,000 yen.
Some shops will even price larger sizes with 70% color retention or more
in the millions of yen.
This shows how much attention everyone is paying to vintage items...
Actually, the 506XX model is said to have existed since the 1890s,
but we have confirmed the product number 506XX in the Spring/Summer 1904 catalog.
It is said that the pocket flap was added between 1923 and 1928,
so the 506XX took this form as early as 1923.
While there were changes in details due to the fabric weave, button size, red tab,
and material controls during World War II, the shape of this black tag 407EXX
corresponds to the 506XX with a pin-buckle cinch back from the early period of 1936-47 (excluding the S506XX of 42-44).
The so-called later model had a slider cinch back instead of a pin-buckle,
and continued until '52.
Now that you've read this far,
you might have a better understanding of what the 47-early (1936-47) 506XX,
which serves as the base for this 407EXX, is like. Now for an announcement.
