Today I would like to introduce a product that arrived on Monday.

The 2 Monkeys 1760 Linen Vest【TM82541】

And arrived on the same day...

 

I'd like to introduce these two items.

First, this one...

 

The "vest + coat" set-up is

very cool, and while they're good on their own,

we at "Jelado West" recommend

wearing them as a set. (Refer to the image below)

 

 

The setting is 18th century Europe.

Back then, men wore...

① A knee-length collarless coat

② A sleeved jacket

 

② is what should be called an "undergarment,"

and this undergarment changed its appearance over time.

 

First, in the 1730s, there was a sleeved jacket...

This is the "1735 Linen Coat" that I'm introducing today.

 

The characteristic of this jacket is

the number of buttons, which is unique to French design.

And, at the hem of the back...

 

 

 

 

It comes with a gusset.

So, it's not as strong an A-line as a coverall,

but it has a gentle A-line.

The length is about waist-length.

 

And in the 1760s...

In England, vests were called

"waistcoats," using the word "coat" which refers to outerwear,

while in French, the word "veste" meant "jacket."

As time passed, its form changed,

 

from a collarless, waist-length, sleeved jacket to

a collarless, waist-length, sleeveless jacket...

 

In other words, it became a "vest."

The "1760 Linen Vest" is finished in linen based on the image of this era.

 

By wearing these two as a set,

 

you'll create a stylish look.

This time, I paired it with chino pants,

but it goes perfectly with denim, of course, and wide-leg pants,

so please come to the store and try it on.
