JELADO CM43 HBT Field Jacket【CT03443】
This is the CM43 Jacket made from herringbone twill material.
The M-43 was an item newly developed and officially adopted in 1941, at the request of President Roosevelt, to refresh the image of the military among young people and increase enlistment.
Some soldiers apparently found the old uniforms, made of poor-quality blue denim, uncomfortable to wear.
Incidentally, JELADO also offers denim material using 10.5 oz Last Resort [blue tag] for the same item.
JELADO CM43 Jacket【CT11437】
While they are stylish and easy to wear when reproduced in modern times, they don't seem to have been well-received by the sensibilities of the time.
For this reason, they decided to adopt HBT (herringbone twill) fabric, which had been used by the air force since 1939.
This new uniform was initially intended for training and chores, but was later used as combat wear in tropical climates.
Due to its excellent usability and reputation, production continued, and a total of five specification changes were made to add new size variations and to simplify and improve convenience for increased productivity.
About a year before the Normandy landings (D-Day) on March 12, 1943, the U.S. military, concerned about the use of poison gas during the landings, formulated and produced the "D-type" specifications, known as "M-43," in the fourth specification change.
The fabric used is a sturdy herringbone twill available in two colors: olive and navy.
The herringbone twill is a durable fabric with clear ridges created by varying the twist. It is also dyed with vat dye, which allows the color to fade with repeated wear, providing an aged look similar to vintage items.
Instead of 13-star buttons, iron laurel buttons are used, and the domed button shanks enhance the overall atmosphere.
Additionally, by eliminating the gas flap, it remains neat even when worn open without fastening the buttons.
Since the fabric is vat-dyed, it will fade with wear and washing, allowing you to enjoy a beautiful aging process.
As a fabric, it's also perfect for this season as a light outer layer.
Since mornings and evenings are still cold, this is a useful item to keep in your bag.

The name comes from the pattern resembling the bones visible when a herring fish is filleted.
Baker pants were worn in battlefields,
but also during indoor work.
It is also said that the name "Baker pants" comes from the fact that bakers used to wear them.
Since they are made of herringbone twill fabric,
