The 2 Monkeys VAUDEVILLE【TM83933】

Vaudeville refers to a type of popular entertainment that originated in France at the end of the 19th century. It also took the United States by storm before the widespread adoption of cinema.

The 2 Monkeys' VAUDEVILLE was created with the image of shoes worn by vaudeville actors who traveled from town to town. It draws inspiration from American and French boots from around the 1910s. While it's not a reproduction of a specific vintage boot, considering that vaudeville as an art form spread from France to America, it can be said that the name accurately describes its essence.

In fact, movies themselves were originally shown during intermissions at vaudeville shows. It was much later that movie screenings became common in cinemas.

Thus, vaudeville and early cinema had a very close relationship. In fact, many early silent film stars came from vaudeville.

 

While VAUDEVILLE has a slightly dressy appearance, it pairs perfectly with workwear like our blue tag painter pants.

The inspiration for The 2 Monkeys' VAUDEVILLE comes from film actors who started in vaudeville, such as Charles Chaplin and Buster Keaton.

In Chaplin's own classic film, "Modern Times," he can be seen wearing boots with a slightly upturned toe, much like the VAUDEVILLE, paired with hickory stripe workwear.

The VAUDEVILLE offers such a light feel that it hardly seems like a boot, so it might even be possible to skip and hop as nimbly as Chaplin in the movie.
